Inspired by Emiliana Torrini's "Gollum's Song" from LotR Return of the King
Originally this was a song fic I published weeks/months ago, but as I had to remove it because of copyright rules and whatevs, I decided to rewrite it a bit, and taddaaaa! Here it is, without song lyrics, all my own! (HAPPY NOW catspats31 ?)
Disclaimers: I own ab-so-lute-ly NOTHING (booohooo) All Marvel and Mythology (not that THEY're going to profit anymore! :p)
Hope you enjoy! Cheers! :D

THE LOST PRINCE
Theirs is a bond so full of promise, so deceitful, so strong...yet fickle.
In his heart of hearts, Loki knew, that he still loved Thor. That he always had and always would.
And for that, he hated him all the more. His brother.
But he was not his brother. Never had been. It was all a lie. His whole life, built on deceit. Always the outsider. Different. Now he knew why . He was a monster.
Was it all he was to them? For none of them had ever truly cared. Abandoned by his own flesh and blood to die on a measly rock of ice, brought to Asgard as nothing more than a stolen relic, destined to bring peace to the two enemy realms, and yet being but the scorn of his own subjects.
Nothing more. Never more.
And he had let go, of him. He with his disappointment, frowning down at him with his stern disapproval. He let himself fall into the abyss. He had let go. How could he not.
He could never go home. There would be no return, lost in the nothingness of the universe.
He was alone. And alone he would face whatever was to come. It was this burden he would carry. That is the way of kings. He was born to be king.
And King he would be.
And the monster within set free, for that is what he was born to be. What he was meant to be. And is that not what they called him?
What they did not understand, is that they brought the monster. He is but the product of their own labours and blatant blindness.
His brother was such a blind one, and still is. Blinded by his very own radiant light, the Golden Prince indeed! Blind to the ever present shadow he cast unwittingly upon the sorcerer prince.
But now no more. There would be no shadow, no second prince. Just a King. And there was nothing his not-brother could do about it.
And he could atone however he wanted. They both knew it would never be enough.
Nothing would ever be enough.
Please please review! Thanks :)
