"Come along Clara." He called. "I haven't got all day."

"We are literally in a time machine, Doctor." Clara said as she rolled her eyes.

She finished tying the bow on the back of her dress and rushed to the console room. She nearly tripped up the stairs, but regained he caught her before she could fall face first onto the floor.

"Humans are so clumsy." He muttered, annoyed.

"Well if you hadn't been rushing me-" She was cut off by a woman appearing in the console room.

"River!" The Doctor said as he saw the curly haired woman standing near the doors.

"Hello, sweetie." River replied, fluffing her hair.

Clara looked at the woman and her mood turned sour, this woman was the Doctor's "wife". She'd heard him mention her from time to time and had grown to hate her. She loved the Doctor and River would be the one to take him from her.

River glanced at the brunette woman on the other side of the console and smirked as she gave her husband a quick kiss. She enjoyed the look of jealousy on Clara's face.

Clara glared at the woman. She purposefully pulled the Doctor aside and reminded him of their plans. "You promised we'd have tea with Shakespeare, Doctor." She said, obviously annoyed.

"Yes but-"

"No buts, you've already cancelled so many times. Please, let's go. Just you and I."

The Doctor looked conflicted. He wanted to spend time with River, he knew her time was running out, but he also wanted to spend time with Clara, she was a fragile human and he never knew which breath would be her last.

"Come now Clara, he obviously wants to spend his time with me, not a little human." River sneered.

Clara turned to the woman, "Why would he want to spend his time with a bitch with an afro?" She growled.

"He happens to love my hair, you should see the way he grabs it when-" She's cut off by Clara throwing a random object at her. "Oh no, have I upset you?"

"Shut up!" Clara yells, her face red with anger.

The Doctor grabs her arm, quite harshly, stopping her from throwing something else at River. "Clara stop it." His face showed no emotion but she could tell he was angry. "Why are you doing this, Clara?"

"Because I-" She stopped herself from finishing the sentence. She tore from his grasp and ran to her room.

River only smirked, knowing she had won this round.

River kept coming to The Doctor, stealing his time from Clara. Until one day he came back to see her waiting in the console room with her bags packed. "Take me home." Was all she said.

His face fell, but he quickly recovered and went around the console, flipping switches and pushing buttons. He pulled a lever and the familiar whooshing sound of the TARDIS came alive, but it sounded almost hesitant. He then pushed it back down, the sound of the TARDIS landing, ringing in his ears. "Why?"

"Because I love you but you love her. I'm sorry Doctor, I can't do this anymore. Don't come back for me, I don't want you." She hid her face and her tears. She picked up her bags and walked out of the TARDIS. She went to her home and leaned against the door, letting her tears fall. The familiar whooshing faded and disappeared. She knew he was gone.

She fell asleep against the door, all her tears had lulled her to a dreamless sleep. She woke up in her bed, in her bedclothes. She didn't remember changing and going to bed, but she brushed it off. She went to the small kitchen and made tea.

Little did she know he had come back, changed her and put her to bed. The last words he ever spoke to her happened that night.

"I love you too." The words were locked in the back of her mind, she knew they happened but she couldn't remember. She took a sip of her tea and looked out the window. The tears came again and fell into her tea, there would never be a blue box outside her window ever again.
