Author's note:
Right. This is my first TMI fanfic. I've read all the books, but this story is set after City of Ashes, because I believe that Clary and Jace had more chemistry when they thought they were brother and sister. Jace was more of a bad boy, and the whole 'forbidden' thing was just more appealing. The first chapter is short cause I'm just trying out the idea. The next one will be relatively longer. City of Glass did not happen here. Oh, and I don't own TMI. I wish I did. But I don't. Life sucks sometimes.
Chapter 1.
It had been exactly three weeks since Jace had told Clary that he wanted to be her brother. Just her brother. His words kept replaying in her mind, like the constant tick tock of a clock.
I'll just be your brother from now. That's what you wanted isn't it?
And her own reply.
Yes. That's what I wanted.
But that wasn't what she wanted. No. She wanted to run her hands through his gorgeous blonde hair and tell him she loved him more than as her brother. She wanted to kiss him till her heart stopped beating. She wanted to feel the electricity that whipped through the air every single time they touched. She wanted to do what they had done in the Seelie Court without feeling guilty. She wanted to-
What was she thinking? Right. This was why she was avoiding him. Now that Clary stood on the steps in front of the institute, saying the Shadowhunter vow, she hoped that her new found record of who can avoid Jace for the longest amount of time wouldn't be broken. Hopefully, he'd be somewhere else. Hunting demons, or that pixie club of his-Hot Wings or whatever it was called, or doing things with some other girl who wasn't his sister.
Wait.
WHAT?
No. Jace didn't see other girls. Obviously. He was probably killing demons. Right?
You know that's not true. Jace has a reputation for being a ladies man.
She cursed that nasty voice at the back of her head, entering the institute as the doors swung open for her.
"Have you tried calling her?"
"She won't pick up. And Luke says she doesn't want to see me."
"Well, maybe she doesn't, Jace. Not everyone wants you around all the time, you know."
"But-"
"Don't even start with the I'm her brother excuse."
"But I am h-"
And as soon as she heard his voice, she knew the Angel hated her. Well, there was no going back now. As Clary stepped into the kitchen, the smell of dirty socks and rotten mushrooms wafted through her nose. Izzy. She sighed. In his checkered shirt, sleeves rolled up, and faded jeans, Jace looked even better than the last time she had seen him. How was it possible for someone to be so good looking? It had to be a crime.
As if finally sensing her presence, both heads, one black and the other golden turned towards her.
An array of emotions flickered across his face: Anger, guilt, confusion and if she wasn't mistaken, longing?
But before she could process any of those emotions, his face became the perfect mask of stone he so rarely put down.
He sneered.
"Look who finally decided to come out of hiding. I thought you were dead."
PLEAAASE REVIEW. I'll put it in loads of fluff next chap if you dooo. Lol, that rhymes. See you guys soon.
