Waiting game-BANKS
Kari, who was walking toward the dressing room to change her lilac kimono, frowned as she saw TK and Meiko in the empty hallway talking and she stood by the door, leaning against the wall.
She had never been a jealous girl, she had always been good and kind, but she couldn't help but feel a certain unease at seeing they two together and TK's smile, because Kari's closeness and friendship to TK had gradually turned into something else.
Because now that they were teenagers and they were in Junior School, things were changing, she was busy with her photographs and school's homeworks and him, with the girls that surrounded him, the basketball and his brother's band and, even always going home together after school and seeing each other at the digidestined's reunions, things had changed.
Kari sighed, seeing that Meiko had left and Kari closed her eyes, bringing both hands to her chest. Sometimes, she wanted to go back in time, when she and TK had been always together or, living adventures in the digital world, because it was always like that, Kari and TK, in the beginning, the youngest of the group, then the pair with a good relationship, unshakable and with much in common. She missed TK.
"Kari?" TK stopped the door beside the girl, watching her, her eyes closed and he smiled as she opened them, blushing.
"TK?" She asked, giving him a shy smile and brushing away a lock of hair from her face and then, he leaned against the wall beside her, staring forward.
"You've been quiet all day..." The blonde said worriedly.
And it was true. He missed Kari, because he had also realized that they had become a little distant and maybe he had been distracted. He didn't want them to be distant, because Kari was the most important girl in his life, he had realizes that when they were 10.
"I..." Kari sighed, sitting on the wooden floor and TK followed her, turning his head to the side and staring into her beautiful brown eyes and she admitted with a sad smile. "I miss you TK, we've been so distant..."
"Kari..." TK stared at her sadly, but his heart jumped when she'd admitted missing him and then his face softened and he said: "I miss you too, Kari..."
And Kari then took courage and held TK's hand that was beside her, squeezing it lightly and she said sincerely, looking at him with flushed cheeks:
"I don't want us to become strangers... I like you TK..." And Kari felt her heart race, her lips parting as she stared at TK, who was surprised, but then his blue eyes softened and TK squeezed her hand back, feeling very happy with her words and slowly, his leaned his forehead against hers, feeling Kari's floral scent and he admitted:
"I like you too, Kari... I've liked you since we were 10."
"TK..." She murmured, her face opening in a beautiful smile that made TK happy.
The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds, their foreheads leaning against the other's, their hands clasped together, seeing their eyes shining, and then, slowly, their lips touched and they kissed.
The kiss was short, only their lips pressing, but it was perfect, and when broke the kiss, they smiled, knowing they would be okay, because they were together.
