"One… two… three…" Courfeyrac counted slowly as he peered under a table in the (for once) empty café. All his Amis knew Courfeyrac had one weakness, that weakness' name was Gavroche.

"Four… five… six…" Courfeyrac had been surprised to find Gavroche alone in the café today. And when the gamin had suggested they play hide and seek, Courfeyrac just couldn't say no. A sudden giggle sounded from inside a nearby cabinet. Courfeyrac smirked, clever little gamin. He thought,

"Seven… eight… nine…" Courfeyrac crept towards the cabinet, carefully overstepping a particularly squeaky board.

"TEN!" Courfeyrac ripped open the doors to the cabinet making Gavroche jump.

"Ha! Found you, you little devil!"

"No fair! You cheated!" Gavroche cried jumping onto Courfeyrac's back.

"It's hide and seek Gav, how do you cheat at hide and seek?" Courfeyrac chuckled

"I don't know 'ow, but you did!" the child insisted giving an impertinent pout.

"You're just a sore loser Gav I didn't cheat!" Courfeyrac said taking the twelve-year-old off his back and sitting him in his lap so he could sit down.

"Liar!" Courfeyrac's eyebrows hit his hairline,

"Oh so I'm a cheater and a liar now?" The boy nodded vigorously. Courfeyrac smiled and dig his fingers into the child's sides reducing him to screams of laughter.

"You still think I'm a cheater? Huh? Huh?" Courfeyrac asked teasingly

"Y-Yes!" Gavroche managed to get out between giggles, before getting mercilessly tickled again by the older man.

"Wrong answer!" Gavroche squirmed trying to get away as Courfeyrac's fingers poked and prodded his frail, ticklish body.

"St-stop it C-Courfeyrac!" Gavroche sounded out of breath and in pain, this was enough to get the student to stop, he didn't want to hurt his little buddy. Gavroche was still giggling as he laid his head on Courfeyrac's chest, eyes drooping with exhaustion. Courfeyrac gently rubbed the boy's back and soon he was asleep. Courfeyrac smiled, he often felt responsible for the little gamin, like a father would to his child. Gavroche muttered something inaudible in he sleep, smiling to himself. Courfeyrac's heart swelled and he kissed the boy's crown.

"Should we tell him we're here?" Joly whispered from his hiding place in the back room of the café.

"No. let him have his moment with the boy." Enjolras replied smiling at the scene of a sleeping Gavroche in Courfeyrac's arms.

"I don't know why he doesn't just adopt the brat, he all ready treats him like he's his son." Grantaire muttered taking another pull of his drink.

"Maybe he will some day, we do graduate this year maybe he's waiting until he's out of school." Marius said wistfully, he knew his friend well and knew nothing would make Courfeyrac happier then to be a father.

"Maybe." Joly said shrugging,

"Maybe someone should bring it up."

I might do more with this, I just find it adorable that Courfeyrac has a soft spot for Gavroche. But then again who doesn't have a soft spot for that kid? He's freakin' ADORABLE! Please REVIEW!
