"Tag! Your it!" Leafy giggled, as she ran away.
Coiny, chased her, laughing. He love spending time with his friend, and she always made him happy. She was six and he was eight, but that didn't stop them from being friends. He chased her through the meadow," I'm gonna get you Leafy,"
He closed in on her, and tagged her a little too hard than he meant to. She fell to the ground, and face planted.
"Leafy!" Coiny yelled, concerned, "Are you okay?"
He turned her face towards him, and saw a big gash on the side of her face, which was covered with a mixture of grime, blood, and tears, " I'm so sorry!"
"OMG! Coiny!," his best friend, Firey shouted," What happened?"
"We were playing tag, and I accidently pushed her to the ground!"
Firey looked at him sternly, " Coiny! Your sooo dumb! She's only six! You shouldn't have pushed her!" He turned to Leafy and picked her up, "Are you okay?"
She looked at him, adoration in her eyes, and nodded. He smiled at her, and wiped her tears. Coiny, felt rage and jealousy bubbling in his stomach. She was supposed to look at HIM like that, not Firey. How could his best friend do that to him. He was starting to consider that Firey wasn't his best friend anymore, just a big dumb jerk.
Firey started to walk off, a quiet Leafy in his arms.
"Where are you going with her?" Coiny asked, enraged.
"I'm taking her to her house, because I'm actually being useful!" Firey glanced back at Coiny, slightly glaring, "Unlike you." He walked down the hill, comforting Leafy as they descended, and leaving Coiny to stand at the top.
That was the day Coiny started to hate Firey
