Some times Abnegation was just too much. Some times she wished she had made another choice. Sure helping her mother was fun and she loved being with her family, but tonight... Tonight it was too much, too suffocating. She knew this was dangerous, but she decided, as she ran for the first time in years, that she didn't care. Hauling herself up into the car of the train, she didn't care.
He had been sitting there for so long he had lost track of time. What was he going to do? Where was he going to go? He could go to Evelyn and tell her he didn't want to be Dauntless any more. He just wanted to be free. His thoughts were interrupted by the small girl that shoved her way into his car. He was on his feet instantly, gun poised at her but she didn't look afraid. Just tired. Unarmed, Abnegation.
"Running away?" She asked
"Haven't decided." He replied tucking the gun away and sitting back down. She sat next to him and his eyebrows raised. She was so small, but bravery seeped from her body into his side.
"I know a place. If you want to go." He doesn't know why he's asking her to go with him but she nods, smiling at him.
"Beatrice."
"Four." She just nods, not questioning him, just accepting it, he couldn't help but return her smile.
They rode the train for several minutes, reaching the Factionless sector. "Come on." He offers his hand and she takes it and he pulls her along as they run and leap from the car bracing his arm around her to keep her stable upon impact.
Once they had regained their bearings he gestured her forward. "Come on, this way." and she silently follows, almost too trusting but when he looks back she looks like she's ready to run if the nessisty arises.
Pushing open a door Four leads her through a crowded room where someone was sitting on a stage singing, exiting through another door Beatrice gasps at the amount of people who were gathered clamoring in the street. Had it always been like this? She tried her best to keep up with Four but ended up grabbing ahold of his hand to keep up.
Entering another building people were milling around with cards and dice, there were people on stage playing some form of music Beatrice had never heard before and she couldn't help but feel free for the first time in a while. Stepping back, Four offered his hand to her. "Dance with me?"
"I don't know how!" Beatrice yelled over the music.
"You don't need to, just do it. Be brave Tris!" Beatrice's cheeks heat up at the nickname but she nods and takes his hand and they move to the dance floor. She watches the other's dance and blushes at the moves they're doing.
"Im not doing that." she laughs pointing at one girl who is grinding on her friend. Four laughs and shakes his head.
"Here, let me show you." He puts a hand on her waist, Beatrice's face heats up but it doesn't last long because hes spinning her and she feels like she's flying. The next time Four's hands find her waist it doesn't surprise her and she sways a bit unable to fight the laughter escaping from her lips.
"Thank you." Beatrice brushed the hair from her eyes and smiled at Four. They were back on the train, the sun was still dark but it was close to morning, some of the stars had faded into darkness . The night had given her clarity. "Are you still going to run away?" She asked.
"I don't know. Maybe not. It depends on whether I get to see you again." His smile was wide.
"Maybe if you stay." Choosing day was today and she had made up her mind.
"So, you're going to run away?"
"Not in the way you imagine. I'll see you tomorrow Four." With that she leaps from the train and he rushes to the side to make sure she's okay and all he sees is Abnegation gray fade to black and he smiles. She would look great in black, he decides as he watches Abnegation disappear around the bend of the train.
