A/N: what happened after happily ever after (she learned that wishes mean nothing

(She wishes it hadn't started at "once upon a time".)

She remembers the first time he said he loved her (seems like so long ago) it was beautiful and poetic and she thought everything was perfect. Soon she began having nightmares (the sound of shattering glass still haunts her to this day) she screams and screams for him, Charles, and then she remembers…

When she sleeps she feels his warm kisses on her soft lips (lips aching for his touch) and his hands in her hair. (When she remembers it ruins everything). In the morning she'll wake up and cover a fresh bruise with her long blond hair (hair he stroked gently on their wedding night as they talked) she even considers brushing it, and then she remembers…

They've noticed the bags under her eyes, the paleness of her skin (they stopped caring a long time ago). Sometimes she wishes someone would stop this, she hopes that her prince charming will come and rescue her from this monster (she scrubs floors and cooks while waiting for him to come around) and then she remembers…

Charles is with that woman of streets every night while she sits alone. Charles is gently stroking the concubines' hair, forgetting all together that he banned her from brushing or cleaning hers. Her prince charming is the monster and (no one will save her now)

They know it will end the same way. (when they find her slashed to ribbons on her balcony they are not surprised.) They pack up her clothes and burn them in the courtyard as he watches in pleasure. (the glass slipper lies at the doors of her closet. The shards poisoned by her blood) When the ladies-in-waiting that retrieved her itemsdie, shock settles. When Charles dies, no one wonders anymore.

(the screams still haunt her)

(Cinderella wishes everything had ended at "happily ever after.")
