Katsumi stared out the window. Like usual, it was raining. Well, what do you expect when you live in the Hidden Rain? She sighed at the thought. It was always gloomy and depressing. Rather than sitting inside and gloating for hours, she'd rather be at Marani's ramen stand gulping down bowls of pork ramen. Of course, that was a dream. Ever since her mom and dad had died in the Third Great Ninja War, she had been low on money. And food, for that matter. She walked to the small area of the room that she used as a "bathroom". She began to comb out her short-ish, red hair. It was grimy, probably because of how long it has been since she had washed it. She dipped her hands under the sink and water dripped out of the nozzle. She smoothed the water into her hair, which didn't help much. She plopped down onto her cot and closed her eyes. In her dream, faded pictures of a blond-haired boy, about her age. He looked vaguely familiar, and a little bit like her. Then a images of a blonde-haired man holding a baby in one arm and wrapping his other arm around a red-haired women, who was also holding a baby that looked almost identical. Everything seemed happy and…perfect.
In the Hidden Leaf, Naruto plopped onto his bed. He was exhausted. After a day of hard training with Kakashi-Sensei and practicing wind type jutsus, he couldn't tolerate another minute awake. As expected, he fell asleep right away. In his dream, he saw a faded figure of a girl about his age. She had red hair that went down to just above her shoulders and looked so much like him. He also saw images of a blonde-haired man holding a baby in one arm and wrapping his other arm around a red-haired women, who was also holding a baby that looked almost identical. He began to toss and turn. Eventually, he woke up. That was a strange dream. But it seemed like I had seen that before. He thought.
Katsumi had woken up at seven-o'clock A.M. to train. Although she had chakra and roughly knew the Rasengan, she had never been titled "Ninja". Thud. Katsumi jumped in surprise. Thud. It was louder this time. She jumped up and ran to the straw door, opening it quickly. "Hello?" she said. "You have ten minutes to pack up and get out, kid." stated a hairy ninja with a gruff voice. "What? Why?" replied Katsumi franticly. "By law of the Hidden Rain, you are required to get out so we can bulldoze this pile straw and make way for a wealthier resident." he stated officially. Katsumi ran inside and packed the two shirts and one skirt into and hand-made straw basket. She scrambled out of the straw house that she used to call home. She run down the hostile streets and sat down, panting. A certain voice caught her mind. It seemed familiar. "…. need to find her soon. I heard she looked like Kushina, but acted like Minato." The white-haired Sannin explained. The Sannin looked in Katsumi's direction, and his eyes widened. "It's her!"
" 'Her'?" Katsumi asked in a soft voice. "Is your name Katsumi?" Jiraiya asked "Yes." she answered. He picked her up and sat her on his shoulders. "You're going back to the leaf with me." he said, walking torwards the village gates with Ebisu.
