Okay, so I know this is really cheesy, but it just kind of came to me. It was supposed to be how Gwen reacted when Arthur came home in Arthur's Bane part two, but it ended up being more general than that because there are plenty of times when Arthur goes away on dangerous missions. I hope you like it.

IDOM

"Arthur!" Her scream echoes through the corridors as she runs to meet him. She had been watching the windows ever since he left, waiting and praying for him to come back. She didn't know how many nights she'd fallen asleep against the window sill, but she continued every night, straining her ears to hear the hooves clanging against the cobblestone, any sign that he was coming home to her.

She had been drifting off into another restless night of sleep, when she heard it, the sound of hope. The galloping hooves carrying her husband back to her. Her drooping eyes shot open and she saw the cape of red billowing in the wind. She couldn't see his face yet, but she knew it was him because the empty hole inside of her was slowly filling, with every moment he was getting closer to her.

She jumped up and pulled on her robe as she ran out to meet him. She didn't care that she was supposed to look regal a poised in everything she did. Only one thought clouded her mind: he's home. So, she dashed as fast as her bare feet would carry her, not even stopping to notice the cold stones beneath her as she ran into the courtyard. He was barely off his horse when she barreled into him. His arms wrapped around her so tightly she could barely breathe, but she didn't care because for the first time in a long while, she was whole.

No one asks anything of either of them that night, and his hold on her never loosens as they walk back to their room. She clutches him just as tightly, as if she's warning him to never let go. It is only when they reach their room that their holds slacken and they look into each other's eyes, the eye's that hold half their souls. It is a long time before either of them said anything.

She finally chokes out, "I didn't know if you were coming home."

"Do you have so little faith?" He jokes, but then his face turns serious, "I will always come home to you."

They both know that there might be a time where he cannot live up to his promise, a time when he never comes home, but at that moment, they didn't care. At that moment, they were together, and that was all that mattered. They knew that their lives were dangerous and hard and sometimes impossible, but as long as they were together, they could get through it all.

So at that moment, they stayed in each others' arms, neither daring to let go.

So that was really fluffy and cheesy, but I couldn't help it. People who have read my other work might have realized that I write about Gwen a lot, and I actually don't know why. I think it is because she is a very undeveloped character (even though I love what they are doing with her this season)

Anyway, I hope you liked it. Please review to tell me what you thought :)
