Author's Note: I hope you enjoy this. NCIS does not belong to me. I just borrowed the characters. I am not making any profits with this.
Before I Lost You Too
Gibbs stared at his phone as he lay on the couch in his out dated living rooming. He waited as he watched the minutes go by.
Abby was still having nightmares even though she reunited with her brother Kyle. Something needed to be done. His girl was hurting.
Another minute ticked by making it 0300 hours.
Since the NCIS bombing it was like clockwork. He phone lit up with Abby's name flashing across the tiny screen.
"Abby, you okay?" Gibbs winced when he heard her voice extremely weak on the other line.
"Gibbs... Can you come over?"
"I'll be right there Abby." Gibbs closed the phone and sat up. Rubbing he face with he hands he let out a heavy sigh. "Abby..."

"Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs!" Abby rushed over to Gibbs when she saw him pull up in his truck.
Ahh... There's his girl...
"Abby!" Gibbs gave her a smile. "What are you doing out?"
"Waiting for my silver fox."
"In puppy pajamas?"
Abby jumped up and down excitedly. "Kyle gave them to me. Don't you like them?" Abby spun around to show off her bright green pajama pants with silhouetted puppies doing all sorts of tricks. Her top, a cream coloured long sleeve with the words "Alpha Bitch" almost brought Gibbs to laughter. Sitting next to words was a small black puppy with a tiny crown sitting on her head.
"Cute. Real cute." With a small chuckle, Gibbs raised his arms.
Abby took the hint and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you for coming Gibbs."
"Not an issue Abbs. Same one?"
Her arms tightened around him. "No." The weakness in her voice was back.
They stood there for a few more minutes. "It's chilly out here Gibbs. Come inside?"
He nodded. The hug turned into one of his arms wrapped around her waist as they started towards her apartment.

As soon as they were inside, he quickly moved her to the small black couch.
"Going to tell me about it?" His head rested on top of hers. His arms wrapped around her as she rested against his chest.
She let out a small cry and pressed her face against his chest. "I wasn't the one on the autopsy table. Well I was but-" Another cry escaped her. He could feel the warm tears wet his shirt.
He waited for her to continue.
After a few more sobs she moved her face away from his chest too look him in the eyes. "It was... it was both of us..." Tears trailed down her pale cheeks. "I couldn't tell you how much..."
Gibbs brought his hand to her face and gently wiped the tears away with his thumb.
"How much I..."
Gibbs ran his thumb over her bottom lip.
Her eyes widened as he moved his face closer to hers.
She mentally melted as his lips touched hers.
"I love you." Abby finished when they pulled slightly apart.
"Love you too Abby. For a long time." Gibbs pulled her into another kiss, his arms pulling her into a sitting position on his lap. "Needed to do something before I lost you too."
"Gibbs-"
"Jethro."
He could feel Abby's smile. "Jethro," her voice full of desire. "I need you."
