Yeah, this is my first Okami story. Love the game soo much
Disclamer: Don't own Okami, it belongs to The Clover Studio/Capcom.
It was a calm, moonlit night on Taka Pass. The slight breeze made the leaves and the tops of the trees sway gently. The monsters weren't attacking, no travelers wandering around needing help, and most creatures were asleep. Along with the sleeping creatures of Taka Pass were the two heroes of Nippon, Amaterasu and Issun. The two heros were both sound asleep in the shelter of the Guardian Sapling. Ammy lay curled in a ball while Issun lay on her head. Everything was quiet, until Issun began to snore quite loudly in Ammy's quite sensitive ear. With a few wolfish grunts, Ammy woke. She glared up at the top of her head, quite tempted to fling Issun across the field in order to get some peace and quiet. She was going to do this, but realized that Issun was probably nestled deep into her fur. She heaved a big sigh before folding her ears back, trying to drown out the sound of Issun's snoring. As she lay her head down to go back to sleep, she swore she thought she heard a flute playing. Ammy lifted one ear up and listened carefully. She was right; it was flute music she was hearing. She lifted her head up and looked around to find the source of the music. She then started to twitch her ears when the music suddenly stopped. Ammy as she looked around she heard laughter. A question mark popped out of her head and she looked up above her. She then met the smiling face of a very familiar person.
"Bonjour, ma chérie." Ammy continued to stare up at Waka before standing and jumping up to where he was sitting. She lay back down, her ears perked up to listen to Waka's flute music or his rants. The Tao master smiled at her before continuing playing, the familiar melody making Ammy remember times back when she was up in the Heavens. Up in the heavens she used to run across the fields and chase the birds that had happened to land there. She and the Celestials would play together and have fun. It was all before the tragic accident of when Orochi and any demons appeared. She then looked up at the stars, as if to try and find her old home. As she did this, Waka stopped playing to look over at her.
"Thinking about the old times, eh? They were such nice times. We didn't have a care in the world..." Ammy continued to stare up at the sky before looking over at Waka. Waka's eyes had showed what he was thinking. He too wanted to return home. They both had been there in the World of Mortals for far too long. Waka closed his eyes and sighed, hanging his head slightly. Ammy stared at him before scooting closer to Waka and giving him a lick on the face. This made Waka laugh and smile. He went to pat Ammy on the head, but seeing Issun asleep on her head he went to scratch her ears instead. Ammy gave Waka a wolf smile before staring off at the stars again. Waka did the same, before closing his eyes.
"You know, Amaterasu, this is just like the old times?" When he turned to her, he had to bite back a laugh. The sun god was now sleeping soundly, her head resting in her paws. Waka smiled and shook his head. "Just like old times..." Waka then closed his eyes and fell into the world of dreams too.
