I could see him clearly through the pale, dim blue light of the street. He was tall an scrawny with a hint of mystery. In all my years I had never heard or seen anyone like him and I had seen my fair share of men. The most interesting part of him was the fact that he was alone in the middle of the street, sitting. It was 3:00 am and he was the only person seen for miles. As I sat there with my tail tucked under my back feet, he started dealing cards, like a game for two. Me being as curious as any animal could be decided to join him in his courageous game. As I inched closer and closer, I could just make out shapes that reminded me of stars and moons and suns. Quickly I averted my attention to his facial expression. He was deep in thought and had not noticed me. As I inched closer his eyes popped open like a child having a bad dream. That's when I noticed it. The green combined with red to make a constructive spiral of colors. It was beautiful, so beautiful that I fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes and watched. I watched him perform his dark magic on the cards in front of him. That's when it happened. Everything around us started glowing, an eerie green and yellow glow. I had to get out of there but I could not move, He had known I was there the whole time and knew I would stay. He started moving towards me with a pointed, smooth stick. Every step he got bigger and bigger until everything was black, my body had gone numb and the world had forgotten I had ever existed.
