Chapter 1
...
Buhdum...
His heart seemed to race the moment she stepped foot in the classroom and an indescribable emotion washed over him like a gigantic wave; a feeling that was new to the young exwire and both intrigued him and scared him shitless. Something seemed to soften inside him as he stared at her small, delicate form and when their eyes met for the first time, a small shiver began to crawl down his spine. He began to feel nervous as he watched her, shifting uncomfortably in his seat all the while, trying to avoid drawing any unwanted attention. The longer he stared at her, the stronger the feeling became until he couldn't take it anymore and looked away. The feeling of longing and attachment began to become over bearing to the point it was getting hard to calm his nerves down. He didn't understand why he was feeling such abnormal and strange feelings to someone whom he hadn't even introduced himself to yet and couldn't seem to shake the feeling that this girl was different than all the other people he had encountered before. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned forward, pushing his arms into him as if to hold his rapid beating heart inside and prevent it from beating straight out of his chest.
He lifted his eyes to look at her again and couldn't help but notice she had a look of worry in her eyes. He had always heard that the eyes were the gateway to someone's soul, and as he looked into her soft blue eyes, it was almost easy to read her. Her eyes were soft and caring although they were clouded with a hint of sadness, and her expression showed that she was definitely nervous and scared. Although he was never good at reading other people's emotions or personalities just by looking at someone's face, it was almost like this girl had her emotions written on her sleeve for him to read and it made him feel like he had known this girl for a long time, despite having never met her until just then. Her eyes met his once again as she awkwardly glanced around at the curious faces, but as soon as their eyes met for a second time; she quickly glanced away, suddenly becoming very interested in her black shoes.
"Exwires," the teacher who had escorted the new female into the classroom said, breaking the awkward silence than hung heavily over everyone's heads as he exchanged a few hushed words to the teacher in charge of the classroom, "This is Kyoko Ayume. Please make her feel welcome."
Kyoko Ayume. Although he had never heard her name before, hearing the teacher say it out loud made a sense of calmness wash over him and he couldn't help but smile softly to himself, pushing a large hand through his black and blond coloured hair. He watched as the teacher exchanged a few more words with the girl before leaving her standing in front of the class. She glanced around awkwardly for a moment before she made her way through the rows of desks, her head bent towards the ground to avoid making eye contact with anyone. She passed the black and blond haired male before making her way over to one of the most secluded desks in the classroom and silently took her books out of her bag, setting them on top of the desk silently. He watched as she made her way past him, and then turned back towards the black board, hoping she hadn't caught him staring at her. For some reason, he was finding it hard to keep his eyes off of her, like he was determined to study her like she was some kind of experiment, but forced himself to keep his eyes drawn towards the board to avoid making himself look like a creep. To keep himself occupied, he began to write everything that was written on the board onto a piece of paper, reading the sentences over and over again in his head, trying to memorize each word.
"Bon... psst... Bon!" a voice broke through the silence, causing the male to press to hard on his pencil and accidently snapping the tip. He growled under his breath in annoyance, then slowly turned towards the other male who had called to him, shooting him an irritated glance.
"What is it, Shima?" He asked as anger bubbled up inside him, preparing himself as he knew what ever was going to come out of the pink haired male's mouth, would only either anger him or annoy him to high hell.
"Don't you think that that new chick is hot? Just take a look at her rack. She's got bigger titties that the rest of the other girls in class!"
The pink haired idiot, also known as Renzo Shima didn't have a filter or a mute button and often annoyed or embarrassed the other students with his obnoxious and perverted talking, as he was doing at that very moment. The much larger male with black and blond hair, also known as Ryuji Suguro or 'Bon' awkwardly shifted in his seat, his face turning red with rage. He felt his left eye twitch and he balled his fists under the table.
'One... Two... Three" He counted in his head, trying to calm himself and keep from exploding with rage. He hesitated for a moment before opening his mouth to speak.
"I have no intention on looking at her... er... chest..." he said, turning his gaze back towards the front of the classroom, ignoring the fact that the other male was staring holes into him. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the pink haired male looking at him with a sly look and he couldn't help but growl in annoyance. Shima's staring continued on for a good few minutes before Bon got annoyed and turned on him once again.
"What!?" he snapped, glaring over at him with a scowl.
"Don't you think she is hot?!"
The question made his blood run cold and he suddenly became very nervous, unsure whether he should answer the question or not. He knew it was a trick question and either way, no matter what he answered with, the question would find itself somehow turned back around to make him look like a total jackass. He thought very hard about what he would answer with before he opened his mouth.
"No... I... um..." he choked, his words coming out louder than he had meant them to. He mentally slapped himself in embarrassment.
Shima gasped loudly and dramatically as he faked being shocked and looked over at Bon, giving him a smirk that just screamed trouble.
"What? You think the new girl is ugly!? Bon, how heartless!" he said in a tone that was too loud which caused everyone, including Kyoko; look over at them in confusion and curiosity. Bon felt his face turn even more red as he felt everyone's eyes land on him.
He turned his gaze towards the female who was sitting at the back, silently praying she hadn't heard, but of course, she was staring at him just like everyone else in the class, her face red with embarrassment and a hurt expression across her face. She shifted awkwardly under his gaze and quickly adverted her eyes, gazing down at the desk top, her arms crossing over her chest as if to hold herself together.
Bon immediate swore at himself and turned around, slumping back against his chair and throwing his head back in defeated. He let out a small sigh and closed his eyes, trying to calm his nerves. He was unsure why he felt so bad; normally he would just shrug it off, but this time, he honestly and truly felt bad that he had hurt the new girl's feelings, and were those tears in her eyes? The thought of making her cry seemed to pull at his heart and he had to fight back the urge to get up and apologize to her immediately. He was so lost in thought that he almost didn't hear the teacher as he dismissed the class. He pushed himself away from his desk and began to place his books back into his backpack, keeping his head down to avoid any awkward eye contact from anyone else in the class. Quickly, he threw his bag over his shoulder and headed towards the door, exiting the classroom as quickly as he could.
...
Once he reached his room, he threw his bag onto the floor and made his way over to his bed, throwing his body roughly onto the mattress and hiding his face in the pillow. He felt like curling up under his blankets and hiding away from everyone, but knew that doing so would be even more stupid than actually going out and owning up to his mistakes. He thought about apologizing to Kyoko, but the thought of speaking to her made him feel awkward and... shy? He didn't understand why even the thought of speaking to her made his legs feel like jell-o. Yes, he was never good at apologizes, but thinking about apologizing to her, made him feel even more reluctant. He thought about writing her an apology letter, but even that seemed to be embarrassing. Frustrated, he pushed himself up off his bed and made his way over to the small closet that sat in his room, opening it up and pulling out a towel. He was in too bad of a mood to think about doing anything and decided that going for a bath would be the easiest way to calm him down. Besides, maybe going for a bath would help him come up with a way to apologize without embarrassing himself further.
