Quidditch Talk Year 3

"This match is going to be huge!" Ron exclaimed. "It's either we win and everything's wonderful, but if we lose everyone gonna have their knickers in a knot.

I bet it's going to be wicked."

"Yeah," Harry muttered.

"Oh right," Ron said as if he just learned that Harry was on the team. "How are you feeling Harry?"

"I reckon I'm better off than Wood," said Harry. He and Ron turn to the corner where Oliver Wood was sitting and staring intensely at the miniature Quidditch field. He was still muttering to himself.

"Wonder what they put in his pumpkin juice," Ron said. Harry shrugged. A loud yell of excitement came from Wood's direction and everyone in the Common Room turned to stare at him.

"And the crowd goes wild!" He then made the sound of a crowd cheering. "Yeah!" Harry and Ron looked at each other silently discussing the fact that Wood has finally lost his mind.

Wood seem to find every moment possible to give Harry advice. Wood would stop Harry in the hallways, sit with him in the Great Hall, and once even had a discussion about which fouls he should watch out for in the bathroom.

For the next few nights, it was as if Quiddwitch had invaded Harry's dreams. One night, Harry had dreamt that the Snitch was just out of his reach and once he was about catch it it transformed into Snape's head. Another night, he dreamt the same thing, only this time Malfoy caught it and Harry had to return to a shamed Wood. One time, he woke up hugging his Firebolt and covered in sweat.

"Harry?" A half-asleep Ron murmured. Harry's head turned to look to him in the dark. "What you doing with your broom?"

"Nothing…go back to sleep." Harry said and Ron was back asleep in less than a minute. Harry put his broom back to it's original position next to his bed post and tried to go back to bed, hoping not to have another dream that involved Quidditch.

The day of the match, Oliver Wood was so white the ghosts thought he was doing a terrible impression of them.

"You should eat," said Wood, pushing a huge plate of food towards Harry. Harry stared at him wondering why he wasn't eating.

"Calm down," Fred said patting Wood hard on his back.

"Yeah, we'll do fine," George added, but Wood only glared at them as if they weren't being serious. The girls of the team Katie, Alicia, and Angelina soon arrived at the table.

Katie sat down next to Harry. "Who's ready to win today?" she asked smiling and slamming her fist on the table.

"Hold on, Katie," Wood spoke up for the first time since trying stuff Harry with food. "We haven't won yet. The Slytherins are going to be tough, I mean look at them. They're totally serious about this." He pointed to the other side of the hall where the Slytherins sat. They were throwing food at each other and giving Harry and the team smug looks.

"Oh yeah," Fred said.

"They're completely serious," George said. Wood glared at the Weasley twins while Harry and the girls laughed.

You could definitely feel the tension in the air of the locker room. Nobody spoke as they changed into their scarlet robes, this made Harry even more nervous.

"Team…" Oliver Wood said, he looked as if he was lost for words and after a while he seemed to have found them. "Do good today, okay?"

Harry and the team nodded. Wood was about turn away but Harry spoke up. "Umm, Wood?"

Wood turned back to Harry, an eyebrow raised. "Yeah?"

Harry stared at the floor, not daring to look Wood in the eye. "Your pants are on backwards," He murmured.
