A Sprinkling Of Almonds

A/N: Just eating some chocolate when this little gem popped into my head. I'll see where it takes us.

"Oh, no! This is horrible!"
Riku looked up from his manga to see Sora sitting across from him, a forlorn look in his eyes as he stared at the chocolate bar, still wrapped, on the table. The bouncy brunet had spent the day with him, running around in the hot summer sun of Destiny Islands, and when they finally got back to Riku's house, he had decided to take out the treat he'd procured for himself at the island's only convenience store.
Sora poked the bar again, and Riku raised an eyebrow as the contents seemed to shift over to the other side, as if a liquid was encased in the wrapper. "It melted! How can I eat it now?" He moaned, prodding it carefully with his finger. Riku sighed, dog-earing a page of his manga and setting it down.
"It must've been from all the walking outside we did." Aqua green eyes flickered from the melted bar to a pair of sad, ocean-colored spheres. "That, and you've been clutching the bag it was in to your chest the entire time. Of course it was going to melt." Sora pouted.
"Gee, ruin the entire situation by saying it was my fault. Thanks, Riku." The older boy was actually surprised that Sora had used sarcasm, for once. Maybe that was the Roxas part of him talking.
"Hey, don't get snippy…" Riku raised his hands in front of him in defense. "Not my fault your treat's a gooey mess. I told you to get ice cream…or at least something that would stay solid…"
"What, like pretzels? That's not a summer food."
" Neither is chocolate." Riku was starting to get a little annoyed. "And pretzels are awesome. They need no seasonal period." Sora just huffed at this, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"Whatever…" His sweet face still looked troubled by this simple turn of events, and Riku licked his lips, fighting the urge to just pounce on the younger boy. "But what'll I do now? I can't eat it like this…"
How about I just drizzle it all over your naked body and lick it off? Riku thought, but he wouldn't dare say it; Sora's naïve little mind would go into overload at such a suggestion. He cleared his throat, shoving that thought into the back of his mind for later reference.
"You could just shove it in the fridge for a while…the freezer, even. It'd solidify in no time." He offered. Sora gave him a blank stare.
"…That could work!" The brunet exclaimed, his face immediately brightening. "Riku, can I borrow some space in your freezer?"
Silence.
Riku broke into a fit of giggles.
"Whaaat?" Sora gave him a confused look, which only made him laugh harder.
"You…you can go…right ahead…" The silver-haired teen said between laughs, wiping away some mirthful tears. Sora just shrugged at this, placing his melted chocolate bar into the freezer.
"Thanks, Riku!" He said cheerily, plopping back into his seat and resting his chin on the table, his eyes giving Riku an adorable look of gratitude. "So…what do you wanna do now?"
"Make out," would have been the truthful answer, but Riku just shrugged. "I dunno. Wanna go flame Twilight fanfiction?"
"…What's Twilight?"
"…Never mind."
"But now I wanna know!"
"Trust me, Sora…you're better off not knowing."
