Have you ever met my friend?
No, of course not.
And if you have, you wouldn't care if they'd rot.
Well why would you be thinking that?
What makes this friend as unappealing as owning a pet bat?
Well, I'll tell you one thing,
They're as amazing as yours.
An everyday person for being interesting.
That crazy you always see in the halls,
So obnoxiously clumsy, they constantly fall.
Then they'd get up with a laugh, then crash into a wall.
But they never let it bother them, because anything can be conquered with a laugh.
They claim that when it comes to brains, they possess only half.
They where all the colors of the rainbow,
Not caring if orange clashed with yellow.
Only to attract attention,
But mellow enough to avoid detention.
They sound fun, don't you think?
So what's wrong with them? you think.
Well you see, they are the outcasts of the school.
Hardly anyone you would think of as "cool".
Those nobody background faces,
That you don't notice in most places.
After all,
You always see them in the hall,
And don't offer a hand when they fall.
You don't join them when they are alone,
Even when they break a bone.
If you accidentally knock them over, getting to your friends,
There is doubt you'll make amends.
You doubt that they will feel lonely,
Just because they look homely.
I know all of this is true.
Believe me, I've been in those shoes.
I know what its like to stand alone like a tree.
After all, this friend that I'm talking about is me.
