Le gasp! I'm writing Harry/Ginny? What?

Well, this was written as a prize for ~treselle13 over at deviantART, as she wanted something to do with Harry and Ginny as a couple. But never fear! More Ron and Hermione will be on its way soon :)

"Hey Harry, race you!" Ginny called out, preparing to zoom back down to the soft grass of the Quidditch pitch.

Harry, whose mind had been pondering what exactly Malfoy had been up to these past months, was wrenched quickly from his thoughts. He flattened himself on his Firebolt, speeding up to where Ginny was hanging in the air.

She quickly caught sight of him and started straight for the edge of the pitch. Harry caught up to her in no time and even managed to fly a loop around her in her descent before landing on the ground just a few seconds before her.

"You jerk!" she yelled, laughing as she dismounted her broom and approached Harry. "Don't you know you're supposed to let me win? I am your girlfriend after all," she added with a cheeky smile.

Harry couldn't help but laugh with her. "Yeah, if you were any other girl, I'd let you win, but you wouldn't want that anyway, would you?"

She grinned. "You're absolutely right."

Harry pulled her in close for a hug. He couldn't put into words how grateful he was to have someone so strong , yet also quite silly, as Ginny in his life. Even if he could only be with her properly for a few more months, he was going to make sure these were the best months he or she had ever had.

They stood like that for a minute or two, when Ginny suddenly pulled away, kissed him lightly on the cheek, and said, "Alright, Captain, we've got some equipment to put away, let's go."

Harry grabbed the trunk containing the Quidditch equipment while Ginny carried both of their broomsticks. After all their items had been put away carefully, they made their way up to the Gryffindor common room, hand in hand.

"You know, Harry," Ginny said as they walked up a staircase on the fifth floor, "I'm really glad this happened. You know," she gestured between the two of them, "us."

"Me too, Ginny," he said, throwing an arm around her shoulder, "me too."

And they climbed the rest of the staircases in silence, both knowing that, considering who Harry was, what he needed to do, there were going to be some hard times ahead.

A short but sweet fic! I seem to be doing a lot of those lately... either way, please leave a review :)
