One Little Met

Summary: Happy Met Day! Here's a short, fluffy piece on a 'character' that's appeared in pretty much all the Rockman series. EXE-verse, games.

Mettaurs are one of the most common viruses on the net. So that means no one will miss one or two, right?
Wrong.
Those Mets are sentient beings of data. If you delete them, they will be missed.
Of course, Blues.exe neither knew nor cared for Mets. They were obnoxious little viruses- to him, they were everywhere. And he couldn't get rid of enough of them.
So when one Mettaur escaped his sword, he turned on it. The Met quivered, then jumped a few times, waving its little pickaxe and blinking its big eyes.
Blues really didn't care about one Mettaur, and it was being stupid and not attacking him anyways. Nor was it anywhere near his homepage, which would have been further cause for deletion. So he left it alone.
A few minutes later, he felt someone was following him, so he turned around. That same little Met was standing there again. When it saw him notice it again, it jumped and blinked again happily. Resolving that it was annoying, if harmless, he lifted his sword to delete it.
The Met jumped and hid under its helmet. He sighed. It just wasn't actually worth it. It was just a Met, after all.
He continued walking, checking to see if the Met was following him every now and again. After a while he became almost accustomed to it. He kept on through the Ura Net, working his way towards his goal.
He heard a startled yip of "Met!" behind him and the clanking of it hiding under its helmet. He turned, puzzled. He hadn't even threatened it this time.
Because of when he turned, Blues was able to just narrowly avoid a Kilby virus' bamboo rod hitting him. He dodged quickly and deleted it with a stroke, then heard a defiant "Met!" behind him. Blues whirled to face a Garau virus. It bared its teeth and warmed up a Heat Side. There was no time to dodge. He braced himself for a hit that never came.
"Met!"
A shockwave struck the Garau, unbalancing it. It turned, confused, then jumped at the small yellow virus, which squealed and ducked under its hat. The wolf-like virus was deleted before it could get very far though, by the same sword that had felled the Kilby.
A large eye seemed to lift the helmet, and then the Met stood and bounced happily. Blues looked at it. It had, while not saving his life, saved him a great deal of damage. He considered something.
When he reached his homepage after the mission was complete, he reported in to his operator.
"Mission complete, Enzan-sama."
Good work, Blues. Hold on...I'm detecting a virus behind you!
"Oh, that?" the silver-haired Navi glanced behind him and smiled. "It followed me home. Can I keep it?"
