Author's note: I don't own Star Wars or the song "Wind Beneath my Wings".
I have no money, so there is absolutely no point to suing. Thank you!
Please review, it makes me feel ever so special!
Anakin sank to the floor and cried. He had just woken up from the adjustments made to his body to find he was now more machine than man. Then the realization of what he had done hit him. He had fought the one person who had always been there for him, who had never questioned him. " Obi-Wan, I'm so sorry…"
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way,
you always walked a step behind.
His master had saved him countless times, had exercised all of his patience for him. Obi-Wan had taken him in as a son, and a friend. And all Anakin had done was betray him.
So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name -- for so long,
a beautiful smile to hide the pain.
Anakin reached out tentatively with the Force, scared of what he might find. Scared he might not even feel his former master's presence. Then his sobs came even harder as he felt Obi-Wan's presence, in great pain. A pain that resonated in every inch of Anakin's body. A pain he had caused out of selfishness.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings
The now Sith apprentice buried his head in his arms. " Is this what the dark side brings? Pain to the bearer? Suffering to the master?" he thought to himself. "I… I never wanted to hurt people. I only wanted to be a great Jedi." He whispered, and then in his thoughts " Like my master". Anakin shook his head, " no. He's not my master anymore. Now he is the enemy." Anakin let the tears come freely again, mourning for a master, a father and a Hero.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it,
I would be nothing with out you.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings
