"Hey, Tademi." Daisuke, the most popular guy in her 3rd grade class, sidled up beside her. "Do you maybe want to go see Ponyo Friday? My mom said she'll drive us if you want."

Tademi beamed. "Sure! I thought it looked really cool when I saw the trailer."

Now it was Daisuke's turn to smile. "Great! Then my mom will bring me to pick you up at 7."

Hibari Kyoya turned away from polishing his tonfas and glared at the doorbell which had interrupted him.

"Don't worry, I'll get it." Chrome pulled her hands out of the dishwater, dried them off, then quickly went and opened the door.

"H-hello? My name is Fudo Daisuke, I invited Tademi to go see Ponyo tonight with me. I think my mom talked to you about it."

"Of course, I remember now! I'll go tell Tademi you're here." Chrome moved to go upstairs and inform her daughter, but was stopped by Hibari's hand on her arm. "Kyoya?" She looked at her husband quizzically. He, in turn, glared at the unfortunate 8-year-old in front of them.

"What makes you think an herbivore like yourself deserves the privilege of escorting my daughter anywhere?"

"U-uh…" Daisuke stammered, terrified by the imposing man in front of him. The kids at school warned him about the cloud guardian, but he'd laughed off the stories as nothing but tall-tales. Now, however, he was completely convinced Hibari Kyoya was capable of murdering an elementary student and making it look like an accident.

Hibari turned away in disgust. "Tademi isn't going. Leave."

Thanking every star in the sky he'd escaped unscathed, Daisuke scurried back to his car.

Chrome turned and looked disapprovingly at her husband. "Kyoya…" She said confusedly.

He turned and gazed down at her, his face softening somewhat when he met her worried eyes. Hibari turned away abruptly and went back to cleaning his tonfas. Chrome, however, didn't return to her previous task. She came and sat down beside him, laying a hand on his arm.

"Why didn't you want Tademi to go out with that boy?" She asked softly.

Not pausing in his work, Kyoya simply said, "I didn't like him."

His wife sighed loudly, but returned to her feet and started to make her way upstairs. "Well, I suppose I should break the news to Tademi then," Chrome grimaced.

A few minutes later, a shriek of "Dad did WHAT!?" echoed along the Hibaris' street.
