Prologue 1: The start of a new kind of war

Elysium, home to the Seven Nations, has been a peaceful world for generations. The rebellion claimed our slave master's homeworld, and an unknown enemy has sought to conquer our new home. This is how its all begins.

Nisan 17th, 5218 ADE

City of Anio-Temple Plaza 2:38 PM

Anio is located to the edge of Adriel's boundary where the Bay of Greymouth on its west and the boundary of Adina on the South. Anio is growing city that survives by trade from their port of Bay of Greymouth. Like all cities of Elysium, Anio is now build up with towers that seems to reach the sky and filled with the necessaires to maintain and grow the culture of its people.

It was just another day in Anio, adrielites walking around having a nice day of their lives.

Most of the people are workers trying to have a nice bunch at a restaurant or two, and some are students sorting out their assignments from their day at universities, and the few are guards in their blue armor with the white markings and cloaks wielding their DC-15 rifle looking for any chance of a crime happening. Which crime rarely happens at the cities of Elysium, for peace has rule the lands since the last Great War.

'It's a beautiful day at Anio,' thought Orion Gojira who is 7'9 foot tall with blue eyes and black hair. He is wearing a blue robe that flow to his shoes. Beneath his robe is golden armour with the Adrielite crest making up his chest.

Orion Gojira, formerly known as Optimus Gojira the second the 812499th Shepherd of Adriel. Orion Gojira is now a governor of Argentino.

Orion Gojira looks around and grin that the people of Anio are having a joy of their lives.

Orion hears a younger and familiar to him, "Anio! A truly beautiful sight of all the coastal cities. Isn't it, sir?"

Orion turns around and sees Robert or commonly known as the Bumblebee. 6'4 foot tall young man with blonde with a lock of black hair and blue eyes. He serve as Orion's most trusted second in command during Orion's time as Optimus and a personal bodyguard of Orion. He wears yellow and black lightweight yet heavily reinforced armor.

"Yes. Yes it is, Robert," said Orion as he and Robert come across a cafe name Starbucks; a human-owned drinking station.

"I heard their frappuccino are sweeter than our energon." say Robert catching Orion's interest.

"Really? Say, I guess I'll try it before we go back to Argentino," say Orion as he and Robert enter the human drinking station.

It was promptly 2:54 pm as Orion and Robert were ordering their third frappuccino as it's so sweet that they wish that Starbucks to be built in Argentino instead of Anio.

Until a horn sounded the area where Orion and Robert hear it as the ones who hear it is unfamiliar. The horn was unfamiliar except Orion who strengthened up. Robert recognizes the tense of Orion meaning that something happening in Anio.

Orion looks to Robert and nods to each other. Robert stand up and followed Orion who walk out of Starbucks.

As soon as they walked out, they hear seemingly that they dash toward the source.

They no longer are visitors from Argentino but soldiers of Adriel, trained to be a one man fighting force with several centuries of battle experience. So when they rushed, they dashed as men of readiness do: with a snap to his feet with quickness that made the breath leave their lungs.

The giant crowd of people that brushed past them chaotic on the street had also stolen their breaths as they regained their wits and unconsciously swung their head toward the source of the voice that called Orion.

"Sir! Orion! My Lord!"

The man's voice returned to him as the swirl of people brushing past Orion and Robert had overcome them back to a corner, overwhelmed.

Taking a risk, Orion and Robert rush toward the person that's been calling Orion and brushed themselves into the entryway of the convenience store and embracing their forms against the glass. Combat stances, defensive position.

The training kicked in and Orion's body hadn't been covered by the clothing of a man who had been trained for war.

"Sir, you're unharmed?" The male's hand had been on Orion's shoulder, the man himself behind Orion as stacking on a wall. The man is a 6'6 foot tall with tan skin, bald headed and brown eyes.

"Terrorist attack or Invasion?" the man had said as the situation fully enveloping his eyes as chaos rules.

"Our past has come to our present. I don't know, Sir."

The beat of war drums, the blare of horns, and all that pomp and power of an unseen army was in the air as the roar of monsters came from overhead. Monsters of a winged variety and secured the air beneath its wings below and adrielites collapse.

Sure, it has employed a shadow over Orion and Robert who had dragged them an into the entryway of the convenience store.

"What is happening, Rex?"

"Stay in, Stay in…" Captain Jonathan Rex had been otherwise occupied with waving off their people and the humans in the store to stay in and lock the door, but he had quickly reaffirmed the attention to his qualified friend. It was an extended time for Orion to see Rex's face during the midsts of battle.

Half of Rex's face was covered in red blood, a human like an arrow in his grip with the hole it made in his left shoulder.

"How did they…" Orion shook his head fast, the sound of pattering arrows in the distance and thumpy concrete imparts. Triggering a part of his head that he had not used yet despite all his years as a fighter. His vocabulary adjusted as well. "Sitrep, Rex"

The combat rules temple plaza. The Rush of adrenaline was keeping the trio battle ready and observant.

The situation that had been punched into their heads had not accommodated dragons, ballistic weapons that had comprised of arrows, and [a lean over the corner later] tanks of troops comprised of a historical chapter of Earth's past; Romans.

Pigmen, ogres, ghouls, goblins and legion.

Seems like a part of the past of Earth invaded Anio, and behind them: something that Orion nor did anyone else remembers seeing several story highs in the middle of the intersections. An elaborate work of stone and masonry that the seven nations had long and away forgot of amidst metal and glass.

"I got split up with Tup, a few minutes ago, he sounded a low horn and I lost track of him. I saw a battalion and more coming on the way here, Sir!"

"Battalion of what, Rex?" Robert had asked, more bite returning into his throats as his hands had unconsciously formed into fists.

"Don't Know. For now, we'll call them hostiles for now." Rex's had had wiped away at his bloodline face, only to return to the arrow that had done the damage.

"You alright, Rex?" says Orion with concerned look.

Rex wiped his face over with a bloody hand inadvertently, panting hard. "I'll live, Sir."

Of all the enemies that, perhaps, the trio had thought they would have to fight against: Terrorists, Loyalists of/and slave masters, maybe the non human beings that sought the conquest of Elysium. They had never thought of, or prepared to fight humans of an Earth's history. Especially the beast they've brought.

Nor when one of the war beasts had flown over particularly close to the street, the rider adorned in silver armor, and spying the trio that didn't run as the mass of people did.

Those who stand their feet are threats, that much was evident from any amateur tactician that every soldier was. So when the eyes had caught across the sky and ground, there was an initial of hostilities between human soldier and Adrielite warriors.

It was needless to be said the high ground belonged to the beast rider.

The rider had hauled his reins toward the trio going around in a circle, the beast's armored head very much upfront.

The three men knew what was coming, twisting back around as their throats give an involuntary yelp, their legs bashing in the door and diving in as those inside had seen the same fate approach them.

The soreness of having a beast charge on them had certainly necessitated bashing in the glass door of the stone and diving in with seconds to spare. The great body of that giant lizard smashing against the building as its head dove in the same way as the Governor and his bodyguards while the governor order the people to run to the back of the store, leaving him, his bodyguard, and the head of a beast cramming around ruined shelves and displays.

Infernal growling and the most morbidly hot breath the three warriors had ever smelled had been revealed as the beast opened its mouth in the confined space. Its head shaking around as its neck had caught it by the frame of what used to be the storefront. There was ample room for it to move its head around, the glowing yellow eyes and very real scale inches from the collapsed men on the floor, grass and debris digging into their back.

The giant monsters, they had been usually familiar with had been those of metal and steel. Inanimate objects given life by the marvels of Adrielite work. This had been a monster able to stare back at them, and stare back at them it did as it jerked its head as to kill them.

On the ground, the men had ended up beside each other as the dragon tried to move its mouth to envelop them in the narrow space, the excessive noise it made thrashing about outside with its wings deafening.

The three sets of legs had extended to the dragon's chin, futilely trying to push it off, but the unique force those pair of legs had forced the Adrielites away, granting them enough momentum to sway on their feet and stand eye-to-eye with the beast. Or at least, it's right eye.

The rider had been yelling in a foreign language, trying to get into the shop off its beast's back, but the dragon had been too chaotic, dealing with three men, it had very much had the right to eat for breakfast.

Orion rips his robes revealing the armor and unsheathe the legendary sword; Daylight, a mighty sword that demands two hands. Rex grasps his five-seven pistols and Robert grabs a dagger; Moonlight. They have the weapons, and this creature is the enemy. They recognized what they had to accomplish.

Of course, maybe stabbing the beast's head hadn't been the best course of action for Orion, the first strike having a recoil as Robert did the same to much less effort.

"By Aslan! Its skin considers recoiling your sword, Sir!" Rex's yelling hadn't been a concern of the beast, its head jerking left and slamming Orion and Robert into the refrigeration units of the store. The men left without breath as both of them finally started breathing.

It would've been all that had been written for the two men as the dragon opened its mouth and made for the men, but one of the children behind the counter had his ingenuity save the men in the form of a lighter and a spray can of an aerosol.

It was a flame that had been undeniably nothing more than a pilot light to the beast, but it was a distraction nevertheless as that young Adrielite in his t-shirt had ducked back down the counter once Orion told him to. The boy throws the two objects at the dragon's gray scales to little effect, let alone the armor.

Time enough for its eyes to shift from the two men to the boy and Orion & Robert to naturally go at the dragon's eyes with both the sword and dagger.

The consistency of jello and eggs. Orion and Robert would remember this as they laced into the organ of the beast, reaching in with all the primeval rage of it in a display of gore and retribution that the men did mind. It was living the creature slaved to its rider: digging into and eventually pulling out as the dragon's lids tried to shut, but instead had been torn the same as that mass of an unidentifiable substance that was once its eyes, now dug into the blade of Orion's sword and Robert's hand and dagger. The flap of flesh had spread to the floor as they had gone right back in.

Its head had thrashed about, but the men had found hold this time, heels dragging across the store as the place was given more mess.

Orion had looked right, across Captain Rex, sword seep into the dragon's head.

"Rex on your three o'clock"

The dragon rider had finally made his way into the store amidst all the thrashing, the sound of a sword being drawn like poetry alerting Rex before Orion's warning.

The sword had gone past Rex's face as he jerked back, just barely stopping before Orion or Robert head as Rex had shoved himself back into the outstretched arms of the apparently ancient human warrior, the sword clattering on the ground as he had shifted right hard and brought the man on the ground in a clatter of metal armor.

With Daylight in his grip as he had used his foot to get Rex off the man, the sword coming down before the Human had used his feet to shove Orion away.

Down through the flesh, into the floor, and up again. Stabbing like a pulsating saw. Unconsciously Orion had been doing this with rage: hard. The metal had melded into flesh as Rex had to stare at Orion for the first time in a long time angered. The first kill of the berserking Orion.

With little ceremony, Rex and Robert dragged Orion, before refocusing on the beast for it's tasted the flesh of their people thus it has to be put down.

Rex did his best with his five sevens that are shooting into the mouth, but the sword of Orion strike the neck of the beast like wood against the grain.

The splatter of blood was very audible as the dragon had ceased its own breathing and slammed on the floor; both inside and out.

Everyone had lost their breath really, the victors collapsing on the giant mass of the beast as it gave out its last death twitch, unprepared for what they just did but certainly prepared to continue to do it as the day went on.

Many consider the first battle to be the longest because the rite of passage for men and women prove their worth as soldiers.

As such, this would be the longest day.

It was the baptism of war for it was a first time to kill a warbeast to Orion, Rex, and Robert. This is how wars started: in the hearts of the living.

Rex whom put away his guns and rips a freezer door. Rex's left-hand carries the door as if it is a shield. Rex's right hand capture the shortsword from the dead human warrior making it his own. The shortsword now renamed as Hope's Edge.

Ivory handles and a sharpened blade. It was certainly a killing weapon that had no right to exist or reach Elysium. As the trio retreated from the staging point of the enemy, just below that stone gate.

(Orion's POV) We found ourselves behind enemy lines in a battlefield we had realized, and run we did.

We were combatants of Adriel and we were trained to do this: defend our people and charge toward the enemy.

An arrow storm blocks our view of our sky that threatened to pitch us. Within seconds, Rex raised his "shield" to block the arrows while Robert and I avoid it by coming to the nearest corner of a building.

The invader knew force consolidation and they weren't past their staging point yet, leaving the advance units of winged beasts and arrows to deal with any "opposition" in front of them initially.

What opposition? Defenseless Adrielites of the old and young? They are cowards in the art of warfare. Bodies of those in Anio had littered the streets: scorched, bled out, violent demises not fit for this world anymore. In essence, this sight of massacre given us; a reminder of what Adriel fight for… To protect the children of Aslan from the darkness of others and themselves. To Defend ourselves from the forces of Darkness.

Yet here I was in the middle of the street, staring down an army that came from thin air with only one other soldier, the bodies of those I failed. They taunting not just me but all of Adriel.

We were in a tactical retreat in between the volleys of arrows that battering the plexiglass of Rex's 'shield.

Rex yelled, "Clear!" Another pillar had hit the door and subsided, the cracking spiders of impact very much there.

I sighed as another flying beast going to the sound of gunfire. We run towards the gunfire as once hoping to reinforce the guards.

When Rex, Robert, and I reached our destination, we focus on the beast flying back over the head, but this time several gunshots rang out. We focus on the lone Guard shooting at the dragon. To our surprise, the rider fell off his beast and hit the ground hard.

"The Guards are best suits for those rifles," I said impressed, considering it was just a DC-15 rifle without a scope isn't something to brag about but this guard seemed to hit the rider. But apparently, the Guard didn't kill him that well as after a moment of grumbling the rider got up and rushed the guard.

I reacted as quickly as I could and ready to throw my sword at the rider but paused as a random male jumped in front and grappled the rider to the ground and shortly use the rider's sword to kill him.

"Fascinating," I stated

"GRAH!" A high pitched growl rang out, and I noticed what could be best described as a pig man began rushing at the individual who just killed the Beast's rider.

"Now that felt wrong!" Rex said in both digest and surprise.

I didn't waste any time as my hand on the sword goes into position and throws Daylight. The greatsword found itself into the pigman that result in knockout off its feet and flopped to the ground dead. The Rider's killer quickly looked to our direction.

"Are you alright?" I called seeing blood on the man's face.

"Yeah!" the man said standing up. "Who are you, I don't recognize anyone with a greatsword nor the armor you're wearing?" the man asked Orion.

"Mmm… Strange way of thanks. However, I will say 'your welcome' in that manner," Orion signed. "I'm Orion Gojira formerly known as Optimus Gojira the second; formerly Shepherd of Adriel, currently Governor of Artigentino, and commander of the 501st Battalion." Orion introduced himself taking a flight bow, he quickly ushered Robert and Rex to come up and introduce themselves.

"I'm Captain Jonathan Rex of the 501st Battalion," said Rex introducing himself.

"I'm Robert Crew or 'Bumblebee'; a scout of the 501st Battalion and Bodyguard to the Governor. Who are you?" Robert asked.

The man was surprised that he was in front of legendary warriors and quickly went into a salute. "I'm Second Lt. Sam Fives of Anio Defense Force" Sam replied.

"Ah, a Guard" Rex said as he scanned Sam. "What are you doing here, are you off duty?" Rex asked.

"Yes sir, I was on my way to go back my duty when this crisis broke out," Sam said calmly.

"Well, it's good for you, oh and at ease soldier," Orion said getting Sam to relax.

"Um, sir, what are you all doing here?" Sam asked pointing towards Orion and gesturing towards Rex and Robert.

"Robert and I were visiting this city for my last day of vacation while…" Orion replied.

"While… I was inspecting the guards with Tup when this happened" Rex replied after Orion guesting towards him.

"Ok, I don't know what's going on but, where were you planning to go My Lord, and where is the rest of your bodyguards and the 501st Battalion?"

"Oh, well I only have Robert as my bodyguard as the rest of them are located on an air base getting a transport back to my territory. The 501st is likely to develop at this moment. And we're heading towards the Anio's Governor home that's where we're anticipating many people to gather." Orion said.

"Then I shall escort you, My Lord" Sam said dutifully. 'The sooner I get my equipment the sooner I fulfilled my duty,' Sam Fives thought.

"Excellent," Orion said as he retrieved his greatsword.

Robert says with command, "Ok, let go to the Governor home." They began to quickly make their way towards the Anio's Governor."

(Invader Pov) Saderan General Tiberius masked his shock when he comes through the gate, seeing a city, unlike anything he's ever seen in his lifetime. Buildings which seemed to rise towards the sky with metal and glass holding it up, strange huge and small flying objects flew through the air.

'What have we just gotten ourselves into?' thought the general. However, he says, "These structures are made of glass and metal here."

His adjutant looked to his leader in confusion. "General?"

Slightly bowing his head a little the commander explains, "I am wondering what do we have in common with these savages."

"Huh? General, what do you mean?" His adjutant is still confused at his leader's response. Amused, the general asks, "Do you not feel uneasy? Have you not wondered where we have found ourselves in?"

The adjutant studies the objects before replying, "Truth be told general when we initially arrived in this world, I was very shocked and amazed that these barbarians are capable to build such massive buildings at such heights and those objects that were flying."

He looks directly at his commander and says, "Though, I believe we have shown that we are the superiors here. And who knows, maybe the savages expertise at building these towers might be useful for Sadera in some way."

The imperial general chuckled at the thought. "That may be so my friend!" He looked over the city once more before declaring, "Once we take this city, Sadera itself will be even more magnificent than ever before!"

Just then a messenger on horseback arrived to deliver a report. "Commander, a large group of barbarians are running towards what we believe is this city's fortress!"

"A fortress? Are you certain?" Tiberius asked, slightly surprised.

"Yes Commander, however… it doesn't look like any fortress we have ever seen before." The messenger responded with Tiberius pondered for a brief moment before asking the messenger, "can you show us where this 'fortress' is at?"

Yes, sir! Please, follow me!" With that, messenger led the commander and his legion toward the 'fortress'.

After a few minutes of navigating their way through the streets to the old Installation base that turned into a Governor's house, the group found themselves in the middle of a huge crowd of Anions struggling to get deeper into the imperial palace. Orion and Sam quickly went to the guardhouse.

"What's going on, you need to open the gate!" Sam, cried as he walked into the guardhouse.

"Who are you, just outside and do as we say," a guard said.

"How do we open the gate?" Orion asked as he walked in behind Sam.

"Gov. Gojira, um, we would need the approval to open the gate and let people in," the guard answered.

"Then get your Governor on the phone and ask, we need to get these people out of the open, the enemy will soon find us," Orion said getting the Guard to pick up the phone and started calling Anio's Governor to get something.

Rex and Robert were standing with a line of armed guards at the end of the large crowd near the outer gate of the palace grounds.

One of the guards says, "We are too few, we cannot stay here! They will overwhelm us!"

Eventually, Orion hears that guard once he gets there to inspect the defenders, "Stay where you are! We will hold this position until the 501st Battalion arrives! Our people here are counting on us to stop the enemy at any cost. So, we will hold and push the enemy away from our people. We are one of the seven light that shine away the Darkness throughout the Cosmos. If the Spark of Hope dies, the other sparks will die and the Darkness shall purge the Cosmos forging a new age of Darkness. And when the account of the ages and erected unto the cosmos. Let them that exist long after us know that this was our finest hour." His speech earns renewed strength in the Guards.

Suddenly four blue marking pelican comes and dropped off a considerable force of guards. The commander of which didn't waste time walking up to Orion as he was talking to the rest of the stational guards.

"Captain Jazz reporting for duty," the commander salute himself to Orion.

Orion turned around and smiled at the commander. "At ease, Turner."

"Where do you want us, Gov. Gojira?" asked Captain Jazz

Orion instructed, "Have your best shooters at the wall points and has the rest join up with us. If any of them climb the wall or managed to push through I want them trying to slow them down."

"Yes, Gov." Jazz answered as he turned and left.

Orion position himself in front of the guards (which carries shield and DC-15s watching the open street ahead) with Daylight ready with Rex ready with his dual pistols and Robert having his plasma cannon ready for combat.

(Minutes later) "Get in formation, the enemy is here," Orion said as he nodded towards the open streets of men, orges, and other creatures were quickly becoming more visible.

(Saderan POV minutes later) Riding on his mighty steed, the Imperial General arrived just in time to see the 'savages' guarding at the entrance of the fortress that the messenger mentioned. The fortress from what he could see was definitely of a foreign design as it does not match any structure back in their world. Also, unlike the rest of the city that he and the rest of the army have seen so far, the fortress seems to have archers positions above the entrance and to be the biggest that could be guarded by a massive army behind the walls.

The General frowned at the sight of the fortress' entrance, "That will be a problem if we manage to get inside, we be slaughter by the archers."

He can also see that using a siege tower is out of the question as the moats surrounding the fortress prevent any safe passage other than the connecting bridges. Not to mention the fortress' walls make usage of a siege tower almost useless anyway. The only way to get inside would be through the forces that are guarding the entrance as well using ladders to climb over the wall as well.

It was then that the General noticed that in front of the bridge leading to the opened gate were what seems to a force of warriors with what seems like to be the leader in front of them blocking their conquest of the fortress.

"Tsk," one of his officers gritted his teeth at the sights before reaching to the fortress; yet again the barbarian's strange 'magic' is causing small but concerning casualties in their army. For Tiberius, this only made feel a bit more uneasy than ever before; so far his army has only faced a small number of savages that fought back with their magic.

And yet some of his officers suggested that what we were facing isn't even a small portion of this city's entire population! The evidence seemed evident as more and more of the barbarians are either killed or captured as the day goes on. Reports from his other officers and especially the dragon riders on the other fronts reported that there are even more of these large 'towers' further beyond than what they have seen thus far.

The Imperial General gave his instructions, "We must take that fortress if we have any hope of taking control of this city."

Sam Fives rushes to the line of the guards with a DC-blaster and his uniform, standing by with his rifle ready to shoot by the command.

Orion quickly analyzed the distance between them and the enemy lines. Recognizing the formation and equipment to be similar to that of what the Roman empire on Earth used, Orion, guessed that they likely had bows and arrows too. And that was a problem, Adrielite armor can stop the most advanced weaponry that they've faced but ancient weapons such as bows can pierce the armor. The worst part is that the enemy archers are in range.

"Don't let them get any closer, OPEN FIRE!" Orion yelled as his Daylight points towards the enemy's army."

All Guards including Robert, Sam, and Rex fired their guns at the front line of the advancing enemies, the bolts tore through the armor of their shields and chest plates dropping the phalanx formations like bread before a knife.

"Don't Let Up!" Orion cried as he ready himself with an oxlong guard of his Daylight.

The Roman soldiers seemed to quickly collapse into confusion as they couldn't tell what was killing them so quickly before they can attack the line of defense.

What's seems to be the commander of the invading army decided to issue some of their fast fighters to flank in their native language.

"Goblins! Swarm the wall" The general cried.

Dozens of goblins broke from behind the formations and proceeded to run for either the defensive line or running for the wall in hopes to scale it.

"Why are they running the wall?" Jazz asked.

"They're trying to flank us by scaling the wall! FOCUS ON THE RUNNERS!" Orion cried as he rushes with Daylight slashing any goblin that tries to kill him.

Everyone use their guns at the goblins, however, the goblins were unusually quick and their small bodies made it difficult to aim at. For all adrielite warrior are trained to practicing on human or larger sized targets.

Rex watched with worry as the goblins quickly closed the gap and even reached the wall. One goblin got close enough to actually leap at the guard line. One of the guards raised his shield to defend himself from the leaping goblin.

BANG! Rex without wasting a breath shot the goblin out of mid-air. "KEEP THAT SHIELD FACING FRONT SOLDIER!" Rex yelled at the police officer who took a second to look behind him at Rex. The officer quickly resumed his original position of defense.

Orion looked to his right and left seeing goblins starting to reach the top of the wall. "REX!" Orion cried to his old war buddy.

Rex quickly acknowledged Orion's cry and turned to the rest of the guard line and the guards on top of the wall. "Keep those goblins off our defense line!" Rex yelled as he raised his dual handguns and started picking off the goblins crawling over the wall.

Robert the Bumblebee decided to take a more hands-on approach. Without hesitation, he steps in front and confronts a goblin that was getting too close. The goblin tried to slash at Robert only to have Robert effortlessly dodge the blade and shoot the goblin in the head at point break.

Another tried to slash at Robert but he kicked the goblin in the head and forced it to stumble back. Robert raised his gun and as the goblin growled at him, Robert the Bumblebee ended the foul creature.

Orion was cutting down any goblins that dared to take him down by his Daylight, he then heard out of his left from Rex.

"I'm on my last round left!" He cried.

"So do I!" Sam Fives added.

"I have two!" Jazz followed.

Orion was now getting worried, they cut down many enemies where their bodies were now almost paving the concrete where the soldiers were lined up, but even more kept coming. They were running out of ammo and fast, reinforcement needed to be here soon or there would be nothing stopping these creatures and legionnaires from slaughtering our people.

Whargharble!

Orion looked above his head to see two Vulture gunships and at least ten military pelicans (2 orange, 2 green, and 4 blues) fly overhead.

"Thank the Great Maker King, reinforcements" Orion breathed a sigh of relief as the gunships performs a quick but devastating strafe run on the lines of the Romans and pelican drops off a considerable amount of warriors whose armors are marked in blue, green, and orange that represent the battalions of 501st, 14th, and 212th that rush in order to reinforce the ground defense or the governor's house defensive wall.

It was at this time that Rex, Fives, Jazz, and the line of guards and the soldiers of the three battalions.

"Governor, their formations are broken!" Fives reported.

"Agreed, ALL UNITS FORWARD!" Orion commanded as he rushes to the enemies with Daylight ready to slash anyone in his warpath. The advance units of the 501st, 7th, and the 212th either join the former Shepherd or fired their weapons. The guards fired their munition unto the remaining soldier while avoiding to hit their own cause the enemy's formation to break further. Fives, Jazz and the lines of Guards are at the entrance with some shooters of the three legions

It wasn't long before columns of AT-TEs, warthogs, and at least a small group of Juggernauts that are a large pack of warriors from 501st and seventh battalions approach the enemy from the left and the right, gunning down the scattered and deeply demoralized legionnaires.

As the enemies that formed up near the Imperial Palace fled, captured, or killed, Orion retreated to the Imperial Palace to check on the conditions of Anio's citizens. He signed relax for they are okay. However, a lonely little girl with black bobcat style hair and big blue eyes were looking for someone. The little girl is in a blue dress with white pants that gives innocent beauty.

Orion approaches the little girl with a smile on his face and kneels down to her. He says as he reaches out his hand to her, "Let's find your mom and dad! Okay?" Then the little girl did something that is unexpected to the Former Shepherd: She hugged Orion and says, "Thank You, Sir!" Then, the little girl broke the hug and Orion stand up and walk together hand-to-hand looking for her parents.

(Saderan's POV before Anio's Reinforcement) The Siege of the Fortress was going well in a way.

The barbarians continue to block our goblins from flanking them by the strange 'magic' that the barbarians use for a couple of moments. The officers and even the imperial general himself, found themselves in the midst of glory when their 'magic' is decreasing.

However, that some of them are cutting a huge number of the goblins with the blades that seem to be impossible to break their defenses is getting frustrated at that. The savages' blades and 'magic' are keeping the imperial legionnaires from bay even the mercenaries are having trouble time as taking down a few knights.

The control for the skies was unfortunately lost as many dragon riders reported they were being attacked by some towers that shoot 'magic' unto them or 'birds of iron' that flew at speeds surpassed their dragons and quick to avoid their firepower. The dragon riders are taking heavy losses and forced to fly close to the ground. This and the siege on the fortress was costing their allies' morale.

The general beginning to enjoy the thought of bombarding the fortress until its occupants run out of supplies or finally give up and surrender. But before Tiberius could speak to his fellow officers to help; a loud voice is heard, "My Lord!" It was a messenger on horseback galloping very quickly with a noticeable panicked expression on his face. Tiberius became worried, what could possibly have happened on the other fronts?

"What is it?" Tiberius asks.

Not wasting his breath the messenger give his report, "My Lord, an army of barbarians has appeared on our left flank! We outnumber them but, we have already taken significant casualties!"

"Impossible, there is no way our army could've been defeated so easily!" Tiberius' adjutant exclaimed in disbelief. Before the general could reply, another messenger arrived with the same expression as the first messenger.

"Milord, an army of barbarians has appeared on our right flank! They also have, what can only be described, are several Iron War Wolves, Drakes, and Elephants in their army!"

The General was shocked, "What Iron Wolves, Drakes, and Elephants? What was the status of your group when you left to give this report?"

"We have already lost a quarter of our legionaries the last time I saw them before I rushed to be here." The second messenger grimly responded.

The first messenger responds, "There were also Iron War Wolves, Drakes, and Elephants when I left."

After the second messenger finished his report and a revelation from the first, everyone was in shock and disbelief, "How? How are we've barely just arrived in this world!"

"This can't be true, it just can't be…"

The general can see that everyone's morale had dropped even more thanks to the reports and was about to issue new orders in response to the now grim situation when a series of whargharble sounds were heard in a distance of the fortress. They look at the sky below the fortress and saw fat birds of steel and two giant bugs of iron. The bugs flew straight towards us and the birds seem to land within the fortress for a moment or two then fly away.

Boom!

The explosive blast sends the imperial commander off his horse, disorienting him for several seconds. When he finally regained his bearings despite his ears ringing, the commander, on his knees then looked around him. All he could see around him were the dead mangled bodies of his officers and troops (what's left of them), destroyed siege equipment, panicked men running around with some missing an arm or legs or more, while others wandered around looking dazed from the unexpected attacks of the Iron War Bugs.

By the time the ringing had finally faded away and he can hear more properly, all the commander could hear was the screaming… by the gods, the screaming of the wounded and the dying are beyond overwhelming! Then, he heard a whistling sounds in the sky.

The commander looked up: and saw large objects rapidly heading straight towards their position before a massive fiery flash consumed him and then, permanent darkness.
