"Clank! I'm home!" Ratchet grinned as he shook the rain off his ears and peeled off his soaked jacket. A few moments passed, and Clank hadn't answered. No, "Welcome home," or "How was your day?" Nothing.

"Clank? Are you home?" A flash of lightning and a crashing roar of thunder was the first answer that the soaked Lombax revived. The second answer was a short, but loud yelp from the bedroom.

Ratchet only sighed in sympathy as he quietly traversed from the front door down to the bedroom and scanned the entire room for the familiar green eyes with the blinking red light just a few centimeters above.

"Clank... Where you at pal?" Ratchet slowly lowered himself down onto his hands and knees to check in the hard to get to hiding holes that Clank somehow gets himself into. Thankfully, Clank wasn't in a difficult spot. Just right smack dab in the center of the area under the bed.

"Clank. I'm right here." Still no response, and Clank himself was shaking like a leaf in a tornado.

"Clank?" After a few moments, Ratchet carefully stretched his arm out and slowly slid Clank back out from under the bed. Once the small robot was out, Ratchet lifted his friend and held him close to his chest and quietly slipped under the blankets and let his purring work it's magic on Clank.

"Ra...Ratchet?" Clank blinked a few times as his optical sensors adjusted to the dim lighting. His auditory sensors followed with a rumbling sound, but the sound lasted longer and was quieter than thunder.

"Hey pal. Didn't interrupt your beauty sleep under the bed, did I?" Ratchet chuckled as he himself awoke from a light doze.

"What do you mean?"

"Thunderstorm earlier sent you under the bed." Ratchet mumbled as he lifted the blanket off and gave a long, feline like, yawn with a back stretch to boot.

To empathize Ratchet's statement, a flash of lightning illuminated the night sky and nearly a minute later a quiet rumble of thunder replied.

"Oh..." Clank flinched at the distant yet still so near lightning flash.

"Just relax," Ratchet sighed as he lied back down and glanced at the bedside clock to find that it was two forty one in the morning. "It's nearly three a.m. anyway and we're gonna need to wake up in a few more hours to work on that stupid NightBlade 2600 before that Blarg gets impatient."

Just as Ratchet ended his sentence, he fell back into a doze. Clank sat up for a few minutes more until Ratchet started snoring loudly. Clank gave one last flinch at a flash of lightning before Ratchet slid Clank's main power switch off and pulled a blanket over them and went back to sleep with a light drizzle of rain soothing him to a peaceful dream.

So, what's the reason behind this one? It's been raining day in and day out where I live this week. And no, sadly, I don't live in Ireland. I do live in the American equivalent though.

And as always, I'll see you guys later!
