Hope you guys like this story! I know it isn't much, but I figured this would be a good start! I'm super busy, so I'm not sure when part two can be published, but lemme know what you think!
"I hate this weather. It's way to dry and windy," (Y/N) mutters into her scarf. It's the tail end of November and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. You're walking home from the local grocery store and you bump into Vic laughs when he realizes it's you. "Oh- Hey, (Y/N)! What's up?"
You've known Vic since your sophomore year in high school, and you two became best friends your junior year. You two did everything together; party, shop, skate- all that good stuff. You chuckled slightly, "I'm doing good man, just headed home to make my delicious pumpkin pie for the family dinner tomorrow night." He looked down at the ground and shuffled his feet a bit. I instantly regretted bring up Thanksgiving. Vic and his brother, Mike, lost their parents last year in a fatal car accident. It happened on the way to one of their shows. Since then, they haven't really celebrated and sort of holiday, not even Halloween. He waved his hand at me, "Nah, you're cool. Most people forget anyways. We'll learn to live with it eventually." I hesitated for a minute, a thought pooling in my head.
Don't ask him (Y/N), it could make him upset or mad. One of the two…
"Hey, Vic," I bite my lip, cautiously forming the sentence as I go on, "do, uh, you and Mike want to…come eat…with…my family for…Thanksgiving?..." He looked up at me, surprise in his eyes. I could've sworn I saw a tear forming in his right eye, before he turned towards the ground. "(Y/N), I'll call you later to let you know. I'll talk it over with Mike. I have to go," his words came out rushed as he walked past me and around the corner, disappearing from my view. I shook my head and headed to my one bedroom apartment, which was a couple of blocks down.
You crushed his feelings; way to go (Y/N)! You're so rude for assuming he actually would've accepted like that on the spot.
"Well, it's worth a shot. No one should spend the holidays alone…" I mutter to myself, trying to ignore the voice in my head.
