Katharine's POV
I was on my way out from my house with my bags packed. I had a huge fight with my mother as I caught her cheating on my father and she blamed me for making my father abuse her, but I knew damn well that she wasn't the only one suffering. I was also abused by him for not telling him about my mother's affair, but really I don't want to go into much detail of it. They weren't really worth my time anyway, as I was abused for most of my childhood regardless of my actions and I couldn't help but feel helpless...hell, I even felt worthless. That day was also the day that I realized some people will abandon you from time to time.
I then plopped down against the wall of a nearby restaurant. It wasn't really rainy, but it was cold enough to the point where I felt my body become so numb I could barely feel anything. I sighed, taking in all of the coldness of the atmosphere. I closed my eyes, blocking everything out of my sight, and not taking notice of what I was hearing at the time.
"Hey." A voice calls out to me as the figure sat down next to me against the wall. I then opened my eyes to see a male dressed in a black hoodie and jeans. There was a blankness in his face, but inside there was a small smirk playing on his lips.
"Hi." I replied coolly. I was not really expecting this to actually happen. I then looked away to nowhere, while I could feel his eyes still locked in on me.
"Are you okay?" He asked confusedly. He didn't really know me, but he was concerned for me. I can't really tell if his concern was genuine, or if he was faking it. But, either way, he didn't really ask a rhetorical question. So, I had to give him an answer anyway.
"No, I don't know if I am okay. I don't even know if I can survive the so-called life that I have. I've been abused by my parents ever since my mother was out cheating on my father and he always blames it on me." I said monotonously. His face turns from confusion into sorrow for me being treated this way and resentment for my father abusing me. He just takes me into his arms, holding me close. I tried hard not to let the tears run through my face.
"You can crash at my place for a few days." I heard him whisper into my ear as he lifted my chin up with his free hand to let me take a look into his eyes. There was something really golden about this guy. As dangerous as he looked to some people...he was like a hero to me. Thank you for saving me in my darkest hour, even though I don't know who you are...
I then accepted his offer to crash at his place. He smiled, and lends me his hand to help me up, and I take it willingly.
