The raw sound of metallic grinding against its counterpart reverberated through the empty house. Soft clicks erupted into inconsistent flares. Silhouettes danced across the room like a deadly ballet, feeding the growing flame. The creaking sound of the wooden panel could be heard as he walked pass. Steve listened and followed the footsteps closely, not wanting to alert the criminal.
"Hey, stop running! Five-0! Hey!" Steve shouted as the criminal spotted him. The criminal took to his heels and started pushing everything against his way to the route behind him, hoping that those crates could stop or prevent Steve from chasing him. Steve immediately took off in pursuit.
There's an emergency exit right in front and as the criminal burst through that door, a loud screeching noise could be heard. It was Danny and his black Camaro. The criminal tripped over the hood of the car, and laid flat on the road. Steve paced towards him, and instructed him to interlock his fingers at the back and cross his legs, while he strapped the criminal. He looked up at Danny and before he manages to say anything, Danny said in a calm tone, "I know what you have to say, book'em Danno, right?"
"Would you mind?"
"Nope, of course not." Danny replied as he handed the criminal over to the police.
"Hey, anyways, did you check the emergency exit?" Steve asked.
"No, I went to go get donuts." Danny replied.
Steve's phone started vibrating. It's from Catherine. Steve smiled to himself, glad that Catherine cared so much about him, as his teammates and him spent five days in the headquarters solving the recent case, and most importantly, he missed her and their five year old kid, Eleanor.
"Hey, Cath!" Steve answered.
"Hey! Just calling to make sure that you're alright."
"We just solved the case; I am on my way home now!" Steve replied, and he flashed his car keys from his pockets and made his drive home.
"See you later." Catherine hung up the phone.
"Bye." Steve replied, grinning as he was excited for the events coming up later, although he may fall asleep anytime, but he had not seen Catherine for five days straight, and he missed her. He knows that he is used to seeing Catherine once a month, or sometimes only once in a few months, but now, things had been different. Since they had Eleanor, Catherine quitted her job and is now staying permanently in his house.
