It was a cold and breezy autumn day and yet, the sun was shining bright above the little girl. It was her favourite kind of weather. She was more than commonly excited today and her excitement had a valid explanation. She was going with her family to watch the maple leaves.
While she sat in her car during a traffic jam, she could almost dream about the amber, tangerine and ruby-coloured leaves delicately drifting from the majestic trees to the ground below them, colouring the sunlight while on it's way. Like Mother Nature's own stained glass window. She could imagine herself running through a pathway covered in that autumn delight. Her imagination was broken off, however, when she heard something from the car next to hers. Are they singing, she thought. Turning her head to see who was in the neighbouring car, her excitement reached a threshold.
There were children in the other car. They had hair like the feathers of a raven. They seemed to be singing an anime song. Her emerald eyes widened. They were singing a song from an anime she loved too. Being the curious and friendly girl she was, Kukuri lowered her window and popped her head out. Her short, coffee-coloured hair curling around and framing her face. Then as though with natural instinct, she began to sing the anime song with them, her face glowing with excitement.
The children in the other car didn't mind either. In fact, they sang a couple of songs before actually speaking. "Hi ! Are you going to see the maple leaves too ?" Kukuri asked in a sweet voice. "We sure are ! My car will definitely reach first, so we'll wait for you there, ok ? The youngest boy, said to Kukuri, his startling amethyst eyes glowing, while popping his head out of the window too. "Ok !" Kukuri shouted, before being pulled back into the car by her mother as the traffic had cleared.
When Kukuri reached the beautiful place, her eyes quickly scanned the breath-taking, fairy tale-like wonderland, trying to find her new friends. Her mother was insisting that they begin to look around, but Kukuri wouldn't abandon her new friends. "But Mummy, they said they would wait for me !"
