A/N: I read a topic on the 'The All Mega Man forum!' forum called 'Story request' and after I saw Laryna6's post, I got intrigued by the idea of writing a story about a normal day of a robot master. Eventually, I decided to expand this idea, and it evolved into what you're about to see. I'm not going to cover some of the robot masters, because they literally don't have any characteristics that I could write about. So… um… 0 done, 113 to go?

Just one day

Chapter 1

'DLN. 000 Proto Man (Blues)'

Dr. Light's lab was on the edge of the city, so some even counted it as a part of the country. Nevertheless, surrounded by trees on one side, with the technologically advanced city of Monsteropolis on the other, it was a rather nice place to live in.

And every day he found himself looking at it.

Up on a tall tree, Proto Man's figure was hidden in the shadows, any passerby oblivious to his presence.

He sat and watched, everything else forgotten, track of time lost a while ago.

For how many days has he been coming here?

Why did he keep coming here?

'To watch my family', he thought. And he did exactly that.

He observed how Rock played with Rush outside the house. The boy threw a Frisbee and his dog caught it and brought it back to him. Roll came out of the house, carrying two glasses of lemonade and a bowl of water for Rush. After putting it on a small table she sat in a chair and laughed at their antics. They were happy.

So why wasn't he? Because deep down, he knew he wanted to be there with them.

His life wouldn't last much longer. The imbalance in his core will eventually kill him.

Dr. Light wanted to fix his it, but Proto Man had that streak of independence in him and still couldn't trust the good doctor. He did try, but he just couldn't.

And he already saw himself entering the garden. Rock would run to him to greet him and Rush would lick his face. As they continued, Roll would offer him a glass of lemonade and hug her brother.

Rock would put an arm around his shoulders and ask him about everything that happened since they last saw him. Dr. Light would stop in the middle of anything he was doing and run outside to greet him. Proto Man wouldn't be ready for him to fix his core. It would pain the doctor, but he would understand. After all, he always did.

Proto Man smiled as a thought came to his mind: he would finally cheer up the doctor today.
