A Drabble - in which Klaroline interacts with the Mikaelson family.
"It's going to be fine, love," Klaus said, kissing Caroline on her cheek. He pulled her out of his bedroom and they walked down the staircase, holding hands.
Never in a million years would Caroline have thought she was going to be having dinner with Klaus, let alone with his siblings. It was different to have finally let him into her world, into her heart. But, so far she wasn't regretting the decision.
He had asked her to have dinner with Kol, Elijah, and Rebekah while Kol and Elijah were in town for a short visit. She had agreed, but reluctantly. Elijah seemed civil enough, but Rebekah was a bitch and Kol was just too creepy.
She took a deep breath as she walked into the dining room with him, watching as Kol shamelessly flirted with one of the servant girls. Caroline remembered overhearing Elena and Stefan talk about Klaus feeding on and killing one of the girls when he and Damon had had dinner here a while back, and she hoped she didn't have to watch any of that tonight. She looked at Klaus and he was already looking at her, watching her. "Don't kill them," she whispered, nodding at the girls.
Klaus laughed softly. "Don't worry. I would never do that in front of you." He pulled her chair out for her and she sat down, already starting to fidget with her napkin - a nervous habit.
Rebekah walked in with Elijah and rolled her eyes when she saw Caroline, taking the seat across from her. "So, this is really happening then, Nik?"
Klaus clenched his jaw and glared at his baby sister, taking his seat next to Caroline. "Elijah, I thought you said you were going to speak to Bekah about her awful manners."
Elijah sat at the head of the table, and Kol sat next to his sister. Caroline noticed the small differences between them all. You could tell Kol and Rebekah were the younger of the group, although Caroline already knew that, because they both still seemed to have a naive innocence about them. Not that Caroline had any kind of experience in judging the behaviors of vampires, let alone the Original family, but she could just see that Klaus and Elijah took care of them.
"We're going to have a nice dinner tonight, Rebekah. Niklaus has asked us all to entertain his new…girlfriend?" Elijah said, looking to his brother for clarification.
Klaus looked at Caroline. "Well, we haven't discussed the details, have we, sweetheart?"
Caroline shrugged. "I guess it'll just be easier to call me that. Yes, his girlfriend."
Rebekah snorted and rolled her eyes. "She's just Nik's new obsession. Next week he'll be on to sketching other things besides horses and blonde bimbos."
Kol almost spit out his wine. "Down girl. You're a blonde bimbo yourself." Rebekah smacked Kol in the back of his head and Caroline had to bite her bottom lip to keep from laughing.
This was going to be a long night.
