**Happy Birthday whuffle (LJ)/IShouldBeWriting (FF)! It's super short but I just realized your birthday was today and wanted to write you a little something (: Anyways, for those of you reading, if you haven't checked out her writing, you should, it's amazing!

Becker heard her enter but didn't open his eyes. He didn't want to see the worry and fear in Jess' eyes, the injury had been minor compared to the ones his two soldiers had sustained, but he knew Jess had probably been worrying herself sick. He'd been treated at the anomaly site and sent home to rest, meaning Jess, who'd been on duty, hadn't seen him at all since the attack. He felt the bed dip as Jess sat down beside him, her cool hand covering his. He turned his hand over, their fingers lacing together.

"I thought you were asleep," she said softly.

"Just dozing," he replied, opening his eyes and gazing up at her.

She held his gaze for a long while, completely silent. He knew she was struggling, wanting to tell him how worried she'd been, but not wanting to upset him by doing so. Finally she settled for pulling down the covers and examining the wound. It started at his hip and went up about three inches, it was deep, but not quite enough to need stitches.

"Does it hurt?" she asked.

"It stings but not too bad right now, the doctor has me on some pretty strong pain medicine."

Jess nodded before letting her fingers graze over the abrasion. Her touch was feather light, her cool skin soothing against the fevered skin around the wound. Becker shivered, partially from the coolness of her skin and partially from the pleasure derived from her touch. She bent her head and let her lips brush over the wound as well.

Becker reached up and wrapped his arms around her neck, pulling her down so that her forehead rested against his.

"I'm sorry I scared you," he told her, "But I promise you, I am fine."

She smiled slightly, "I was so worried, I knew that if they sent you home you were fine, but not being able to see you, see for myself, it was driving me crazy," she rambled before blushing and biting her lip to stop herself.

"My lovely little Jess," he murmured, tilting his head and kissing her, his hands traveling to her waist.

Another shiver ran up his body as she slid her hands up his bare chest before locking them around his neck. Between her feather light touches and the feel of her lips against his skin, Becker was being pushed into a frenzy of desire. He knew that letting it get the best of him was a bad idea though, if he did and then were to end up in any pain in the process, Jess would panic, think she'd been the one to hurt him. He broke the kiss reluctantly and pulled her to him, holding her against his uninjured side. She smiled and rested her hand on his chest, letting it reside just over his heart, she dozed off in his arms.

Becker smiled down at the sleeping form, "I love you, Jess," he murmured before falling asleep himself.
