A drabble - in which Klaus becomes a teacher at the Mystic Falls High.

"Good morning, class," Klaus said as he walked into the classroom after the bell had rung. Caroline looked up from her desk and thought she was dreaming. What the hell was going on? She looked over at Rebekah who looked equally annoyed at their surprise substitute.

"I'm sure you've all heard that Mr. Saltzman is feeling a little under the weather, so I will be your teacher for a while." He grinned and sat down on top of his desk, his eyes meeting Caroline's.

Caroline clenched her jaw, wondering what his angle was. How many hints did she have to give him to show she wasn't interested? She bent her head low and drowned out his lecture, almost racing out of the room when he bell rang.

"Rebekah, Caroline, could you stay after the bell for a second?" he asked, watching as all of the other kids exited the room.

Rebekah walked over to him quickly. "What the hell are you doing here, Nik? This was the one place that I had to be away from you."

Caroline slowly walked over to them, but still kept her distance. "I have to agree with your psycho sister here. I don't get why you can't just leave everyone alone."

Klaus smiled at both of their angry tones, shrugging his shoulders. "Mayor Lockwood thought it would be a great fit. Who better than someone who has lived for over a thousand years to fill in for the ailing history teacher?"

Caroline rolled her eyes. Did he really think that his little smirks and googly eyes were going to impress her? "Well, I actually care about school and work hard for my grades."

Klaus placed a hand over his heart and faked shock. "Are you to suggest that I am not a man of integrity and would tamper with your grades, Miss Mystic Falls?"

Rebekah stamped her foot and just walked out of the room, not in the mood to watch her brother drool over the town hussy. Seriously, who wasn't infatuated with Caroline?

Caroline went to follow Rebekah, not wanting to be left alone with Klaus, but he grabbed her arm as she walked past him. She looked at him, trying to pull her arm away but his grip was tight. "Can you let me go, please?"

Klaus hopped off of the desk and just smiled at her, not letting go of her arm, but loosening his grip. "I'm a very patient man, Caroline," he said, pulling her closer against him. "I can wait for you to come around and see that I'm actually worth a shot."

Caroline rolled her eyes and took advantage of him loosening his grip, yanking her arm back and backing away towards the door. "Well, I hope you like waiting for forever. Because you and I, just not happening." She walked out of the room and shook her head, trying to rid herself of his touch, his smell, the look in his eyes.

He wouldn't seriously wait for her to come around, would he?
