It all started on a typical Friday night. Clare was at home reading a vampire novel. This was her new way to pass time. She didn't have many friends now and her and Alli's friendship was still on the rocks. She also didn't have a boyfriend now that her and Jake were over. She really did miss spending time with him, but she'd obviously never admit that to anyone.
As Clare was getting to the climax of her book, she heard laughing in the hallway outside of her bedroom. Curiously, she sat up in her bed some. After a few seconds, the culprits of the laughing stood in her doorway. It was Jake and Jenna. Jenna? The same Jenna who stole Clare's first boyfriend? The one who betrayed her and who she hated? Yup, that Jenna and Clare was outraged.
"Jake" said Clare "Why would you let this shrew in our house?"
"Ouch. This isn't going as well as I was hoping.."
"Don't worry Jake, I'll break the news to her" said Jenna while slightly smiling, amused by the whole thing.
"What news exactly?" Clare questioned
"Me and Jake are dating" Jenna stated
Clare just sat there in shock until Jake started to say something. He wanted to know if she wanted to join them for some food at The Dot. She simply stood up and shut her bedroom door in there faces. She began to cry. Yes her and Jake were broken up but this just wasn't fair. It's like Jake decided to date the one girl she hated more then anyone at Degrassi. She was mad and slightly heartbroken. She didn't know what to do or how to react in a situation like this.
A week has passed and Clare did her best to avoid Jake and Jenna and everybody else for that matter. She hated that Jake lived with her. Having to see him all the time made her feel worse and worse as the days passed. She constantly thought of ways to avoid going home-home was her least favorite place right now. Clare was trying to think of places to go to after school when she was interrupted by her English teacher.
"Mrs Edwards, did you hear me?"
"Oh, no sorry I didn't" Clare replied
"I said that you will be partnered with K.C. for the big first semester project. It's worth 30 percent of your grade so I suggest you take it seriously"
"Great" Clare thought "Now I have to worry about a big project and I have to work on it with K.C." And that's when the whole plan came to her.
