A New Years Celebration.

The new year was drawing in. The Burrow was alive with magic, life, laughter and music. The past year had been long, hard and trying. There had been many deaths of family, friends and classmates. A pop sounded outside but that was nothing new. Witches and wizards had been popping in and out all night but now the hour was upon them and there was sixty minutes till a brand new year.

Hermione was so glad to be seeing in the new year with her loved ones well almost all her loved ones. Her boyfriend was not in attendance. However in the four years they'd been together, he still always managed to surprise her. So he could pop in, in the next fifty minutes.

For the next forty five minutes she danced and laughed with Ron, Harry, Ginny and the Weasley brothers. At five to midnight she wandered outside trying to find her friends - she'd nipped to the loo - but to no avail could she see them. The new year grew closer and there was just seconds away.

The countdown began she searched and searched then a pair of arms wrapped around her waist and she turned to see her blonde haired boyfriend.

"Draco!" she exclaimed. "You made it."

"Of course I did," he smiled.

"Has anyone seen Hermione!" shouted a voice.

"Ron," muttered Hermione.

Draco pulled her backwards though the crowd.

"Where are you taking me?" asked Hermione.

"Away from people," he answered.

"Three, two, one"

Hermione found herself pulled into Draco's embrace and into a tender loving kiss that she happily partook in.

"Happy New Year," whispered Draco.

"Happy New Year," she smiled. "You know what it's going to be a great new year. Because we have nothing to worry about."

"Well we have you friends getting ready to slaughter me," said Draco.

Hermione turned her head to see Ginny, Harry and Ron advancing on them.

"Oh shit," she muttered.

"You…I…oh shit this is much harder than I thought," muttered Draco.

"What are you talking about?" asked Hermione, turning back to him.

"I fuck," said Draco, dropping to one knee.

"Oh my god," muttered Hermione, her hands flying to her face.

The trio stopped dead in their tracks and Draco glanced up nervously.

"I you changed my life in the last four years and am I so grateful that, that slap knocked some sense into me that you are no different to me. I love you so, so much and I want to spend the rest of my life showing you how much. I know were only young but we have all lost so much in the last year friends, family and our childhood I don't want to waste another second in case anything happens," said Draco, before he pulled a box out of his pocket.

He opened it revealing what Hermione knew to me the Malfoy family ring intended for his bride. The black cut diamond in a oval surround by diamonds and all encased in a sliver ring.

"Will you marry me?" he asked.

Hermione stared at him for a second and she didn't know why because she knew her answer.

"Yes," she said. "Yes of course I will."

Breathing a sigh of relief Draco got to his feet to slid the ring onto the finger it would stay on forever.

She pulled his face to hers and kissed before resting completely in his embrace.

"Your right I think this is going to be a great new year," smiled Draco.

The End

Happy New Year
