"Okay." Jacob muttered nervously to himself. "I can do this. I can do this." He tugged at the hem of his black jacket.

"Of course you can do this." Nessie said reassuringly, straightening his tie. "Daddy's not that scary."

Jacob looked at her.

"Well, he's not that scary to everyone but you." She amended.

He blew out a gust of air. He eyed Nessie. "I can do this. Because it's for you."

"Exactly." She smiled.

"Oh crap, forget Edward, Bella's going to murder me." Jacob suddenly moaned. "D'you remember the day she found out what I nicknamed you?"

Nessie lifted a hand to his cheek. His mind was flooded with her memories, not quite as clear as the more recent ones, but still distinguishable.

"You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness Monster?"

Jacob cringed. "You know, your mom was really scary that day." He told Nessie, wincing.

She grinned at him.

He looked at her for a moment, his eyes softening slightly. Then he stood up, straight and tall, all six feet, seven inches of him, and took a deep breath.

"I can do this."

"You can do this." Nessie agreed. "But you can do this while I stay here with Seth."

He mock glared at her. "Letting me face the wolves by myself, Ness?"

She grinned again. "Wolves, Jacob?"

He rolled his eyes. "Just make sure you don't lose that ring. Dad would kill me, it was Mom's."

"Jacob. Am I more likely to lose this ring, or are you?" She asked him, face serious, but tone teasing.

He flashed her a look, but conceded the point. "Whatever. Just...if Bella tries to kill me, it'd be nice, you know, if you'd lend a hand."

"Don't worry." She chided him softly. "I'll always be with you."

Jacob couldn't resist leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss on her lips. More than that was most certainly out of the question, especially with Rosalie glaring through one of the diamond paned windows.

"She knows, doesn't she?" Jacob murmured to Nessie.

"Auntie Alice knows. And now, so does Aunt Rose."

"Okay." He breathed in. "Wish me luck." He started for the cherry wood front door.

"You're going to need more than luck, Jake." He heard Seth's parting words. "You're going to need a miracle."

He grimaced.

And he opened the front door.

"Well, that went better than expected." Nessie said, bandaging a cut on Jacob's arm.

"Yeah, having three vampires trying to kill me but only half succeeding is definitely better." He mocked.

"Jacob."

"Sorry."

"But they said yes." She informed him.

"Did they?" He asked her, an eyebrow raised. "I didn't realize, as your mom was intent on ripping my throat out with her bare hands."

"Well, Daddy said yes." Nessie assured him, taping the gauze in place.

"Well, that's one down, two to go, I guess."

She smiled at him, leaning over his heavily bandaged body. "Hmm. Somehow, I expect that this marriage will happen whether my mother wills it or not."

Jacob couldn't help but chuckle. "You got that right."

And he pulled her down, hugging her tight, never intending to let go.

I've been toying with this idea for quite a while, and I decided that, since I have really nothing better to do, I might as well put it into words!!

The result!!

Please review guy, I love you!!
