Ode to Roger (I Danced In The morning- the Roger Remix)
By Windwhisper
Disclaimer- You know the drill. Roger, Alanna the Lioness, Jon, Alex, the Black God, Thom, Tortall, Delia, and Conté belong to Mrs. Tamora Pierce. The song I Danced in the Morning' belongs to Sydney Carter, and all variations belong to me.
A/N- Heyla. I was singing this with a friend, and I thought suddenly that it would serve this purpose well. I like the idea of a Roger (that is spelled right, right?) insane- live forever- king of the world song! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I'm HYPER! You get the picture.
I danced in the morning when the world was begun
And I danced for the moon and the stars and the sun
And I came down from heaven and I danced on the Earth
At the fief or Conté I had my birth
Chorus-
Dance, then, wherever you may be; I am the lord of the dance, said he, and I'll lead you all, wherever you may be, and I'll lead you all in the dance, said he.
I danced for the Lioness and Jon, you see
But they wouldn't dance and they wouldn't follow me
I danced for Delia, for Alex and Thom
They came with me and the dance went on.
Chorus
I danced on the Sunsday and I killed the lame
The holy people said I was insane
Alanna cut and she parried and she sliced me nigh
And she left me there in the tomb to die
Chorus
I danced at the coronation when the sky turned black
It's hard to dance with the Black God on your back
They buried my body and they thought I'd gone
But I am the dance and I still go on
Chorus
Alanna speared me down and I leaped up high
I am the one who'll never ever die
I'll live in you if you'll live in me
I am the lord of the dance, said he
Chorus
A/n- (2nd)I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope you liked it. Now review!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that little box does serve a purpose, you know!)
