Lonely Destiny
By Lady Death
Sage sat at the bar, sighing over his drink. How Rowen had managed to make him promise to sing karaoke with him. Now his fate was sealed, and he was sitting here until their number was called. He glanced over into the crowd and watched Rowen and Ryou trying to teach Sai some dance steps not used in the eighteen hundreds, Kento watching a few feet away, amused. He sighed and went back to brooding over his fate. "It must be nice." The guy beside him said suddenly. Sage looked up from his glass. "Nani??" "Must be nice, having friends like that." He looked up from the counter and Sage could see his face. Obviously Chinese with short black hair pulled back. "You may hate it now, but treasure it while it lasts." With those words, he stood up and began walking away. "Hey." Sage called out, and he paused in his movements. "Who are you??" He looked away. "Doesn't matter." Sage went to stand up and walk toward him, but a couple passed between them and by the time they were out of the
way, he was gone. Sage sat back down, staring after him, thinking about what he had said. He suddenly felt someone pull on his arm. "Come on!" Rowen urged, "They called our number!" Sage went with him, relatively more cooperative than he had been before.
WuFei watched the two from the door, smiling at the sight of the two singing some song Rowen had picked beforehand, before melting into the crowd.
