A/N: I hope you guys like this! I wrote the majority of it before the episode aired tonight, but I edited it right after I watched it. (I stupidly assumed Peter would be the wolf.) Enjoy!

He found her crying, as he knew he would.

"Jiminy," she prayed to the star above her, "please bring him back. Bring him back." She repeated her last sentence over and over as she rocked back and forth, desperately hoping her mantra to become reality. Kneeling in the snow, she was breathtaking, surrounded by jewels: the crystals of the frost around her, the wide, sapphire sky, the diamond tears streaming down her cheeks, the ruby red of her hood mixed with the blood of the body next to her.

"You know I can't do that," he squeaked as he approached her. She jerked her head in response to his presence, not really surprised he was there.

"Please, it's my fault he's dead. I didn't know…"

"You couldn't have known," he chirped as hopped in her lap and tickled her hand with his wings. This simple action had always chased her tears away when she was younger, but her problems had grown with her, and no mere trifle could vanish the hollow body next to her. "Who you really are was kept from you. There was no way you could have known."

"But… I loved him."

Jiminy tried not to flinch. He thanked his lucky fairy that he was small, and, therefore, she was unable to see the pain etched on his miniscule face.

Of course she loved him.

He was brave, a hunter, a protector, everything she was brought up to want. Not to mention, he belonged to the same species as her. Jiminy glanced down at his shiny green body. He did not have to be highly educated to know she would never dream of his powerful legs or his springy antennae.

"S-sometimes," he stuttered, as he often did when around her, "we have to let go of the ones we love. It lets them be at peace. It's what they would want." He concluded his advice in a soft whisper, more to himself than to her.

She gazed down at him and pressed her lips together in a grim smile.

"I won't let go of you, Jiminy."

He hummed with such a wondrous content that night that every cricket in the land captured and mimicked his song. It carried from their world to ours.

Now, when Archie sits on his porch and hears the crickets hum, he closes his eyes and smiles, overwhelmed by the incomprehensible elation bouncing around inside of him.

A/N: Please tell me what you think! It only takes two seconds to review, but it keeps me happy for so much longer. And I hope you guys enjoyed the episode tonight too!
