Zim stood in front of the large computer deep within his base. He stared fixedly at the blank, dark screen, as he picked up the item that GIR had somehow obtained on his trip to Krazy Taco.

"You're kidding, right? You still haven't gotten it?"

Zim looked down at the item he now held in his hands. It was an Earth device, known as a gun.

"You still haven't realized that we've always tried to send you as far away as possible from Irk?"

The weapon was cool in his gloved hands, foreign.

"No one likes you here, or even wants you here, Zim! You're the biggest failure in the history of Irk!"

Slowly, Zim lifted the gun up to his mouth. It felt so cold against his skin as it touched his lips. Not that he cared.

"We've always wanted you dead, but you never die."

Zim cocked the gun. Tears fell from Zim's eyes as he slightly opened his mouth. He truly was a defect; Irkens never cried.

"And you're still too blind to see that we've banished you again- that we've already tried to kill you at least several times?"

This was it. There was no place for him in this life, no point of living if his Tallest's even tried to kill him. No one needed him, or even cared for him, for that matter.

"We have just one wish, one and only, and this wish is that you would end you're life!"

"I'll grant you that one wish…" Zim whispered, not noticing the figure creeping up on him. Zim's shoved the barrel of the gun into his mouth, nearly gagging himself. His finger began to make its way to the trigger as more tears threatened to fall.

"Z... Zim?"

Zim froze.

"Zim, what are you doing…?"

Zim blinked. Ever so slowly, he pulled the gun out of his mouth. Why was he stopping himself? It's not like he cared if the Dib-worm saw him commit suicide. It's what the Tallest's wanted, didn't they? For Zim to die?

"Jesus, Zim, is that gun? Were you... about to kill yourself?"

Zim didn't bother to turn around. "Why do you care?" He asked quietly, in a strained, slightly wavering voice. Zim tensed as the humans hand gently landed on his shoulder.

"You're the only thing that keeps me going."

Zim smiled warily. Somehow, he had found comfort in that statement. The Dib-thing needed him. And Zim needed Dib, even if he wouldn't admit it.

Hey, everyone! I'm sorry I haven't really been active. I've had bad writers block. Anyway, this is my first ZADR/ZADF piece! Yes, I am a supporter of this pairing, but if you're not, then think of it as ZADF. This one shot was inspired by a picture on Deviantart. This is the link:

Get rid of the spaces though, OK? And, yes. The owner of this piece knows I'm writing this story.

P.S. I'm REALLY sorry if you're expecting an update any time soon for ANY of my stories. Like I said, I have huge writers block, and I'm really behind in school, so I can't type as much as I used to. So enjoy this one shot! As for you lovers of making OC's, I might put aside my other stories to create a new Tokyo Mew Mew fic.
