Candle in the Wind
It had been a long, hard year for them all. Harry finally won the war. Many people's lives where saved, others perished in the battle. One whom perished was Hermione Granger.
Harry, Ron and all the brave girl's friends stood in black to watch Hermione be put to rest. Tears fell down their faces in the pain of it. Ron and Harry, her closest friends felt their hearts rip. No longer will she cry, smile or be able to boss them around. No longer will Ron and herself be arguing. It will be quiet, a lonely silence.
The silence will not be golden.

May you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
and the stars spell out your name.
lived your life like a candle in the wind,
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills,
your candle's burned out long
before your legend ever will.
these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try,
the truth brings us to tears.
All our words cannot express
the joy you brought us through the years.
your life like a candle in the wind,
never fading with the sunset when
the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills,
your candle's burned out
long before your legend ever will.
May you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed
itself where lives were torn apart.
Goodbye England's Rose,
from a country lost without your soul,
Who'll miss the wings of your compassion
more than you'll ever know.
life like a candle in the wind,
never fading with the sunset when
the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills,
your candle's burned out
long before your legend ever will.
They watched Hermione's coffin be lowered into the coffin. The brightest witch of the age was put to rest. Many would mourn the brown-eyed witch, as she had changed so many lives for the better. Her heart was always in the right place. She died a true heroine.
"Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust…" droned the priest. "We will remember her; the brightest witch of the age."
"We will remember." murmured to crowd sadly.
It was soon over. Many people threw down flowers for her. Her friends stayed a little longer to respect her memory. Finally they departed. Ron watched Harry staring to the tombstone.
"Come' on Harry." the blue-eyed wizard said sadly, putting his hands in his coat pockets.
"I'll be there in a minute." Harry murmured. Ron nodded understandingly, walking off with a swift look at the stone. Harry walked closer to the tombstone and threw down a white rose.
"You won't be forgotten, I promise you." he said finally and walked away without looking back.
Hermione Granger; died a true Gryffindor.
