It was almost 2 in the morning and Lily was still having trouble falling asleep. James was sound asleep next to her. Even worse, a violent thunderstorm shook the entire house. A loud crash of thunder roared.

That's it. Lily turned on the light on her side table and sat up. James stirred in his sleep, a small grin on his flawless face. She smiled while reaching out her hand to stroke James's cheek.

His beautiful eyes opened slowly. James yawned slightly, turning his head to glance at the clock.

"Why are you waking me up at 2:14?" James muttered while rubbing his eyes. A bright flash of lightning echoed into their room.

"Are you scared?" James asked in a caring voice. He sat up and scooted next to her, putting his arms around her and hugging tightly.

"Not really, just can't sleep." Lily lied. The light next to Lily began to flicker as a loud roar thunder bellowed. With a quick click, the entire house was engulfed in darkness.

"Make it go away." Lily snuggled closer to her husband. She nuzzled her head into his naked chest smiling broadly despite the darkness.

"I'm not God." James teased as he stroked Lily's gorgeous and silky hair. He breathed in the beautiful scent of her shampoo.

"You sure seem like one." She said, looking up. Lily couldn't see anything but knew her true love was holding her and his smiling face was right in front of her.

James chuckled. It was soon interrupted by another thunder crash, making Lily jump. She held James tighter.

James lifted Lily's chin and tried his best to kiss her lips. It was the kind of kiss that made them feel like the only 2 people in the world. The kind of kiss that took all the fear out of Lily as her body slowly began to relax.

The kiss ended with a large smile on James's and Lily's face. He learned forward and pecked her small nose.

"I love you." He breathed, holding her tightly.

"And I love you too." Lily smiled. She couldn't believe how lucky she was.
