Once upon a time, way before the beginning. There was a young man named James. He was the kind of person who wouldn't hurt a fly, unless the things he loved most were in any sort of danger. He had just held his beautiful baby for the first time. He could feel the soft beating of his little girls heart on his chest and feel her warm breath against his arm. She was perfect. He looked admiringly into Wendy's big brown eyes and all of a sudden time seemed to stop. He found himself in a dark room, where the only a ray of light was beaming through a tiny window. He hesitantly walked towards the window and slowly peered out. He looked around. Outside it seemed perfectly still, then he heard a soft mumble and a small sniffle. He searched desperately for any sign of life. A reason to why he was here. Then he seen a young girl. She was kneeling with her head buried in her hands. By her side there was a child's storybook. She appeared to be only 10 years of age. Her hair was a dirty blonde colour, but it was beautiful. It was long and thick, and perfectly curled. After watching her closely for what seemed like an eternity, the child slowly stood up. She looked up and her eyes met his. She picked up her book slowly walked towards the young man. Realising who the child was he shouted so desperately for her. 'Wendy!' She couldn't hear him. But he could hear her every breath, every sound. Through the tiny window she handed her story book over to the young man and whispered ever so silently. 'Don't leave me'...

Just as James blinked away a tear, he opened his eyes and there he was. Once again staring into the big brown eyes of his innocent baby girl. Whilst looking down at her, he noticed something in his other hand. It was the storybook. He handed his baby over to the nurse, being extremely gentle. He opened up the small tattered book and carefully studied each page until he reached the last. He sat in silence for a while and thought about his future, Wendy's future. He realised what he needed to do. He rose to his feet and made his way to Wendy's cot. 'Wendy, darling' he whispered. 'I know you're only a baby but I need you to remember that I love you dearly and that's why I have to leave. I have to protect you from love'. He softly stroked the side of her face and gently kissed her forehead. 'I need to protect you from Peter Pan'.

Holding the storybook with a tight grip he went in search of Peter Pan. So he could destroy Peter before Peter could break his daughters heart. It wasn't going to be easy but he was ready. Nothing could stop James Hook.
