Mary's point of view
My entire body was covered in sweat. The pain was so great that I couldn't help but scream. I was in extreme pain. Labor was definately hard work. I knew that it would all be worth it when He was born. GOD told me I would give birth to the prmosed child.
"You're doing great," Joseph told me, "Just keep breathing."
I was able to keep breathing through the pain. It was scary but it was also exciting. The baby's head broke through. His shoulders came next and then came the rest of the body."
"Oh my GOD," Joseph whispered.
Fear shot through me.
"Is He alright," I asked.
"He," he told me, "Is not a He. He is a She!"
I thought maybe I heard wrong at first. I had given birth to a Daughter? But the people of GOD have always been males. How could this possibly be? Joseph put the baby in my arms. I could tell by his eyes that he had already fallen in love with Her. It truth, I had too. I was just shocked that GOD had given me a Daughter.
"You know She needs a name," Josheph said.
"Well yeah," I replied, "How about Batyah. It means Daughter of GOD."
Josheph smiled.
"It's beautiful," he said, "Batyah."
I fell asleep with Batyah in my arms. I don't know exactly how much time passed before she started to cry. On instinct I fed her. She then fell asleep.
"This little girl is so beautiful," I said kissing her forehead.
"She is," Josheph smiled.
Then he got serious.
"I swear," he said, "If anyone ever tries to hurt Her I will rip off their head and feed it to them."
I laughed. Batyah smiled in Her sleep. Of course, it could have been gas but I believe it was a smile.
"Look," I said, "She's smiling."
