Yo yo yo! It's Cherry! I've entered a challenge, so here it is (very late I may add)…

ANIMAL!

It was a typical day in Cerulean City. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and Misty was beating Ash up in the park.

"What do you mean you forgot my birthday?! I've only reminded you 50 billion times that it was today! Ash, you idiot, how could you forget?!"

"Misty, I'm…"

"Don't ever talk to me again Ash Ketchum. You have disgraced my love and messed with my fragile female heart!" Misty walked off with tears in her eyes, leaving a slightly bruised, shiny eyed Ash.

When she was out of his sight, Misty ran. She ran liked she could have done while travelling with him. She ran like she was being chased by a monster in a monster movie. And in truth, she was being chased by a monster; the monster of rejection and broken hearts. She ran past her sisters when she got to her house. She ran into her room and cried her eyes out. How could he have done that to her?! How could he have forgotten how much he meant to her?

Ash started walking, shuffling his feet along the ground. In truth, he had forgotten her birthday was today; he thought it was tomorrow. He walked along the streets in a daze. He had never meant to hurt her; he only had her happiness in mind. As he walked, he tried to think of a way to make it all up to her. And as he turned the corner, he saw it. He saw the answer to all his problems.

Misty had stopped crying, and decided to take out all her frustration on a poor pillow. Feathers were flying everywhere, but she really didn't care. Even though she had hit Ash, she still needed to physically exert her anger, but she was sorry she had exerted it earlier onto Ash. She looked up,

"I still love him…"

As he purchased his item, Ash started writing on a piece of paper, hoping that if anything could keep her sane, and to keep her with him, this would be it.

She walked towards her sisters,

"If Ash comes, send him to my room; I need to talk to him."

It was Daisy who opened the door.

"Oh my God! It's, like, Ash. Hey Ash. Misty said that she, like, needed to talk to you. So I would, like, go to her room and, like, talk to her. She sounded, like, upset."

"Hey Daisy…I have an idea, so could you send this into her room instead?"

"Ummmm…I guess…"

It wasn't Ash who walked into her room; it was a dog.

"Well, hey there cutie; why are you here". It took her 5 minutes of petting the dog to find the note taped on.

"Now who would do such a cruel thing to a dog? Taping a note to a dog, despicable!" She read the note anyway, figuring it would probably be important.

She dropped the note to the floor.

"Ash, are you here? Come here, talk to me!"

He walked through her door.

"Misty, look. I'm really sorr…" He was cut off with a very passionate kiss.

"Ashy, thank you. That dog may be only an animal, but it was sweet enough to bring you back to me."

Dear Misty,

I know that you may be mad, and I really don't blame you. I deserved every punch, every bruise. I hurt you, and for that, I'm really sorry. I know you may not be able to forgive me, but I just wanted to show you that I still care even if you don't.

This dog isn't just an animal. It is a symbol of my love to you. It's pure, it's innocent, and will last forever. Okay, maybe the "forever" part can't be symbolized with something that will die eventually. But know this, even when I die, I will still love you.

Consider this dog your birthday present. I'm sorry I forgot.

Yours forever,

Ash

AWWWWW! Now wasn't that sweet! Crappy, but sweet.
