In the Final Moments

Disclaimer: I do not own Bleach.

AN Note: Hello This is just a small one shot poem/ramble I wrote on Ulquihime (My favourite pairing)!

I hope you enjoy. Also, please take a few moments from your day and drop a rate/review for me, as it really helps! And without further ado, happy reading!

And then she kept on dancing in the rain, even until after the music had stopped.

It was realized only at the finale that he was the more fragile one than her.

And thus, when he was gone, she would never grace the floor with her dancing again.

It was exactly as he told her; once upon a time, that the higher you rise, the greater the fall. Who knew that he would be the one that his advice would affect?

All she remembered was the feeling of herself drowning into oblivion. Nothing was left to keep her afloat.

In just those few moments her world was gone. Destroyed by only herself. I will build there walls around me; and it will be only me who can break them down. I create happiness. I melt into darkness.

And she remembered that saying, strangely at that moment of a forever still time.

"The greater the rise, the harder the fall".

And it was after he tumbled down that metaphoric cliff that she soon followed; although her fall was different from his.

Whereas he fell straight down to the bottom of nothingness, she became broken along the way. It was as though her body was a puppet, moving by some unforeseen puppeteer, who moved her down the rocky face of the cliff jarringly, so that her fragile body came in contact with sharp protrusions, breaking her bones as she reached her demise.

She wished in her heart that she was lying somewhere close to him, even though she was forever mangled and deformed, contrary to himself.

There's so much pain. It hurts too much to breathe. Consuming who I am. Seeping into my soul. Loneliness. Desolation. Despair. Please save me. See who I am with those invisible eyes of yours. Reassemble me from my broken state, left at the bottom of the cliff with only a dead memory for comfort. Dive in to rescue me from drowning into darkness. Please, hear my prayer.

Her silvery gray orbs screamed with emotions in those few seconds that past, as she watched him turn into ash, blown away by the unforgiving wind.

What was she supposed to do? How was she supposed to recover, when her soul had just been cracked when he was lying on the cold ground of the Las Noches roof, with Ichigo towering above?

What was she supposed to say when her heart broke when he reached out towards her- a silent plea for regret and forgiveness?

How was she supposed to react, when her very essence was shattered when she reached out to grasp his frail hand, and he turned into black ash -understanding was finally present in his eyes as he faded away?

She could do absolutely nothing. She was powerless and utterly defenseless.

So when he left this world, all Orihime Inoue could do was crumble to the ground, and spiral downwards to despair, falling from that cliff, and drowning in that ocean, wishing for some form of redemption. Someone to tell her that everything was going to be alright, that the being whom she entrusted her heart to was still alive and was there to protect and save her, like he always did in one way or another.

As she fell, clinging onto him, all she could do was chant his name and hope- Ulquiorra, Ulquiorra, Ulquiorra.
