A/N: Please forgive this barely passable attempt at humor.
The winter day dawned bright and cold. Tyson's snores filled the entire dojo. He lay fully sprawled out on his mattress. Ray rolled over and curled up, trying to block out the noise. Kenny typed away at his computer, the blanket over his head forming a primitive tent. Kai was nowhere to be seen (for now).
The clock struck 6:31 and a bucket of ice-cold water descended on Tyson.
He awoke with a yell. "A world champion needs his beauty sleep!" He growled.
"You will end up sleeping through the world championships at this rate". A deep, cold and determined voice said. "Up. Now. Or you have to do 20 laps. That applies to all of you."
Tyson looked up to see Kai standing over him, giving them all the ultimatum. He was dressed in his usual cargo pants and black top, complete with the scarf, but he had a hood covering his head.
None of the blade breakers said anything about the addition to Kai's attire.
One did not question Kai's clothing or mess with it unless one had a death wish.
He had them up and doing their chores in no time. Tyson and Kenny prepared the training area for their practice and Ray began making breakfast.
"Hey Ray! Uh… get me some noodles and mustard pronto." Kai said.
Ray nodded and got to work but then frowned. Since when did Kai use American slang words like 'pronto'? Wait…There's only one person who ate noodles and mustard. Only one person in the entire world who did something as weird as that.
He turned and pulled the hood off 'Kai' only to see a shock of blond hair and laughing blue eyes of their American blader.
"Max!" Tyson, Kenny and Ray yelled, with identical looks of surprise and betrayal.
Max was in hysterics. He snorted, giggled and laughed, not able to control himself.
"Your faces! You guys look like goldfish!" He said in his normal voice. He imitated their open-mouthed expression. They glared at him. Max was unfazed. Facing Kai's death stare made all the blade breakers immune to anything else.
"I think my imitation is rather good, don't you think?" Max boasted. "I'm good at copying voices."
He drew himself up to his full height and said in Kai's voice, "None of you get a minutes rest till the work is done! "
Kenny hid behind Tyson who stared straight ahead with wide eyes. Ray tried to slink quietly into the shadows.
" What's got you all so frightened?" asked Max, puzzled. "Surely my acting isn't that good…
There was a quiet cough behind him.
Max whirled around like a beyblade. "Kai!" he yelped, jumping almost a foot in the air.
For it was none other than their stoic captain who stood there and he did not look amused.
Ray, Kenny and Tyson beat a hasty retreat but there was no escape for the American boy.
Max might have made a fool of all of them but, at the end of the day, it was Kai who had the last laugh.
A/N: I suppose it could have been better if I had made it longer but I am out of inspiration and someone *glares at writing partner* insisted I post it now. (Thanks for the encouragement though!)
Maybe I'll improve it another time.
Bye for now!
