Here is the first fanfic about Kaori Yuki's "Boys next door". It is the most beautiful and sad story I've ever read. There's only one novel, but it made me cry, and I would recommend it to anybody who's not afraid of yaoi/shonen-ai. Enjoy: I own absolutely nothing!! This is the story of Adrian's death and his reunition with Lawrence at the end of the book.
Adrian stared up at the sky, his blonde hair blowing softly in the breeze as he stood at the top of the building. The sky, the clouds: everything was so beautiful. A bunny floating in the breeze, a tree… but that one, that one cloud that's darker than the rest. It looked like a jester.
Adrian stared back up at it as it seemed to laugh at him from the sky, a place where he could not get to it. The sounds of the carnival washed over him, and he bit his lip, trying to hold back the tears. All his childhood memories flashed through his mind: his mother ignoring him; wandering through the carnival, hopelessly lost; stabbing his mother; those murders he had committed; and that face… that beautiful face.
Those blank, emotionless eyes bored through his mind, reawakening the fire that coursed through his body, charring his heart black. He remembered the softness of his long brown hair and the soft pink of those perfect lips; the way he cried and laughed; the way he stared into the darkness and told Adrian that he needed him. That was the first time he had ever been needed. And the last.
Never again would someone look at him with love in their eyes. Never again would anyone care what he did. Never again would he have someone to hold onto for dear life. It was over. This jail and this roof were the only things he had now: these people with empty, fake smiles, their eyes cold and uncaring. No-one needed him now, not even Wolfy.
Standing up, he strode slowly over to the chain-link fence separating him from the rest of the city below: living happy lives, not knowing the pain of having the one you love leave your world forever. But maybe it didn't have to be forever…
His long pale fingers reached out to the tall, sharp spikes on the top of the fence and he pulled upward, hot blood trickling down his fingers. A balloon floated by him, dancing in the wind, and he felt fingers trace along his chin.
A grin lingered on his pale, thin lips: those lips that had not spoken for 2 years. "Lawr," he croaked, his voice barely more than a whisper, and he summoned all his strength and flung his legs over the fence, letting himself go.
All the world's pain and suffering disappeared as he flew through the air, plummeting toward the ground. All he saw were those emotionless eyes and those lips, curling into their soft, innocent smile. "Lawr, I'm home," he gasped as he hit the ground and left the earth.
Far away, in a place no living person has been, Adrian walked toward a 14-year-old boy. His hair was in front of his face, and his hands were in the pockets of his skin-tight yeans. His clothes hung onto his skeleton-like body, and as Adrian came closer, he looked up. Wide eyes crinkled in a smile as they ran to eachother. They embraced tightly, and Adrian felt like he was needed once more. A single tear ran down his face as their figures dissolved into light, floating up away from earthly bonds: to a place where they could be together at last.
I hoped you all liked it! Sorry if it was a little OOC, I tried! Lawr + Adrian forever. Zomg, their story is so sad!! Comments are appreciated, and constructive criticism is welcome! :3
