Disclaimer: Oh yes, I own Inuyasha and everyone else! I just lost the papers proving my ownership. Along with my mind. No, sadly, I do not own Inuyasha or anyone else for that matter. If I did, Kikyou would cease to exist.
Inspired By Cs Lewis- Why love if losing hurts so much? We love to know that we are not alone.
Kagome sat under a tree in her own time. Not just any tree. The tree where she met Inuyasha. The one she loved and loathed. She was reading a book that her father had once given her. Before he left her life for good. She had almost forgotten where she was until she dropped her book. She reached for it from the bench she sat on. Suddenly, she stopped. She thought, This is where Kikyou shot Inuyasha so long ago. And even after that, he still loves her. Why? And why do I love him so? Why do I stay? Is it for that one moment of pure happiness when his lips meet mine? Or when his hand brushes my skin? I long for those moments. But I'll just lose him to her anyway. Why do I risk the pain? Why love if losing hurts so much?
Kagome picked up the book when a picture fell out. She smiled. It was a picture of her father and mother. They looked so happy. She wished she could be that happy. She turned the picture over only to find something written on the back. She recognized her father's handwriting. She struggled to read the words, as the sun was setting and there wasn't much light. Realization came over Kagome when she read the note. She laughed. Her father always did know what to say. And he was right. We love to know that we are not alone. She put the picture in her book, marking her page. She thought to herself, I am not alone.
