He remembered the mutant as if it were yesterday. Not so much a mutant, just different. A slight stubble on his chin as white as the snowy hair on his head. Eyes as bright as a fireworks explosion and skin that was nearly transparent. This was the look of Kankri Vantas, the man that had been stuck in the so called Orphaner's mind ever since the day before, when they had passed on the street. The other had accidentally knocked Cronus's coffee out of his hand and had offered to pay for it. Cronus let him and they talked as he finished the new drink. They both had two sons, were single parents, and worked at the college. Dualscar, as most students called him for the marks over his right eye, had never seen the handsome albino man and questioned what part of the university he worked at. The wintery other brushed off the question, saying it didn't matter and to leave it at that was best. They went their separate ways and the day flew by till they met again in the halls of the college.
"So, wve meet again, eh, mate?"
"Y-yes, we d9, yet we're 69th s9 6usy! Haha, it seems we must get t9 the places we're needed, and teach what must 6e taught t9 these mindless y9ung men and w9men." Kankri scuttled off, hunched over like a beetle trying to flee the impending death of a looming shoe. The scars on the sleek haired other furrowed as he looked around to see what had scared the other off so easily, only to see the headmaster, Kurloz, standing in a doorway nearby.
"I wvas tryna talk to that cute newv teacher! Then you scare him off like he's a mutt...wvhy IS he so scared of you?"
A deep, dark chuckle filled the room as the tall, messy haired Kurloz spoke, "I did a lot more to him than you'll ever be able to with him being willing, besides, he is a mutt. He's an albino, the only reason I'm letting him teach is because he can somehow get every student to pass his classes. No matter what subject, and I'm gonna be testing that."
The words were surprisingly cold, sending a shiver down Cros spin as the memory passed his mind while sitting at his desk in the dark. The tips of his fingers massaged his temples for a long time before he turned off his lamp and slowly headed to his huge bedroom. Slipping off his soft silken pirate-like suite, he went through his messy drawers and found some comfy pajamas and got into bed. As his eyes closed, he drifted off to a deep sleep that was filled with dreams that seemed from a past world, with Grey, horned people and bloods of different colors.
