"I-I'm going to be a f-father?" He was flabbergasted. He was scared. It wasn't supposed to happen. He couldn't bear a.. a.. a child at these dangerous times. "N-No.." he shook his head, his gaze falling down to the ground between them. "No.." he muttered once more, defeated, and left Dora by herself in their small home. Once he was outside, he Disapparated towards Godric's Hollow, where three of his best friends laid to rest.
He placed daisies on Lily's grave, since Lily had always been mesmerized by the beauty and simplicity of the flowers. He rested a lily flower on top of James', since the flower reminded him of his one true love. He then moved to Sirius' makeshift grave. His grave did not have his body six feet under- the grave simply was to pay respect to him, as he and Harry desired. He placed a small bag of dog food on top of it. It was an old joke, and Sirius made sure to make it clear that he did not like flowers.
"Hi, mates." he smiled sadly at them.
"I-I'm going to be a f-father.. Can you believe that?" he chuckled lowly.
"I know Lily must be cursing me to Hell right now because I've left Dora when she told me amazing news." he sat in front of his friends.
"I'm happy. You should all know that.. But I can't be happy. I can't promise my child a life."
"There'll be a war coming.. I can feel it. Just like the last time, mates. I'm certain you all know that feeling." his voice weakened.
"I don't want my child to be born in the midst of a war. I can't let him get caught up in this mess. Me and Dora are part of the Order, I.. I don't know if we'll both live through this." Remus placed his head on his palms helplessly.
"Well, you shouldn't have left Dora crying by herself, Remus!" said a shrill voice behind him. Her turned around and he was faced by an angry Andromeda Tonks.
"If Dora doesn't love you that much, I would have killed you this instant!" she raged, pulling him by the ear.
"O-Ow! Andy, I'm no little boy!" Remus howled in pain.
"But you're acting like one!" she released the poor man.
"Explain to my why you've left my poor, crying, pregnant daughter alone in your house?" Andy impatiently tapped her foot on the grass.
"I-I was scared-"
"That's cowardice! You've gone through all Order missions, and this you can't face?" she bellowed.
"I'm frightened, Andy! I'm frightened that my child would never live through this war! All of us will be affected. There is no assurance that we'll all make it out alive. I can't promise him a life, Andy." Remus explained with tears springing out of his eyes. "And even if my child did live, I can't forgive myself of giving him such a burden of being part werewolf."
Andy was left speechless. She thought he just didn't want children. Of course, he did; There's just tons of complications.
"Remus.. You'll get through this with Dora. I know you both will. And with the baby- Dora doesn't care if it's a werewolf or not. Heck, I don't even care, too!" Andy sighed, getting no response from him.
"R-Remus.. Let's just please go back.. Dora needs you." Andy pleaded, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"O-Okay." he said, standing up and giving Lily, James and Sirius one last look.
He promised them all he'll do his best to give his son a life.
