Brinker had held a conference. This was not an unusual occurrence, but this conference in particular had been very special, because he had been sharing ideas with some very esteemed collogues, whose opinions he trusted and regarded very highly.

The topic of the conference was a difficult one to discuss, as it was quite personal. However, Brinker, being a man of business, knew it was time to face this massive issue.

At the end of the meeting, a vote was taken, and Brinker's Briefcase, Cordovan Shoes, and Woven Cardigan had all been in agreement on the key issue: Brinker, they determined, was in love with The Facts.

It wasn't necessarily Brinker's fault; after all, The Facts was a lovely and alluring lady. She was beautiful, curvy, and fundamentally right.

Brinker, however, was finding it difficult to admit to himself that he was, indeed, in love. It was a massive change, going from caring about everything to truly caring about one thing.

Eventually, Brinker had decided that the time had come to confess his love. He was very nervous, feeling as if he might not even be committed to the love himself, but late one night his Cardigan gave a very powerful speech on motives and virtues from the bottom of his closet, and Brinker's mind was subsequently made up.

The Facts was waiting for him in a deserted classroom, as Brinker had told her to.

He knocked twice at the door, his heart fluttering. "Come in," called The Facts in a sweet but slightly demanding tone. Brinker obliged, pulling the door open slowly and peeking inside.

The Facts was sitting on a table, looking as beautiful and voluptuous as ever.

Brinker gasped. The Facts ruffled.

"So," she said with another small ruffle, "what do you want to tell me?"

Brinker coughed. "Uhm…I have something…important…to say. And…it's very difficult, but I feel it must be done."

The Facts looked at him kindly. "Go on," she said.

"Oh, The Facts!" Brinker exclaimed, suddenly full of nervous energy, "I love you! And I know now that I have loved you for quite some time. I will do anything for you, my love; I am recklessly devoted to you!"

"Oh, Brinker!" The Facts cried ecstatically. "I love you, too!"

The Facts tumbled out across the table, and Brinker gasped a second time.

"This could be a dangerous relationship," said The Facts breathlessly, "but I like danger."

And thus, Brinker and The Facts began their whirlwind romance.
